An image forming apparatus includes: an image holder configured to hold an image formed using an electrographic process; a transfer body that faces the image holder and is configured to contact the image holder while rotating to form a secondary transfer region; an application unit configured to apply a voltage for charging the secondary transfer region; and a charge unit that faces a region other than the secondary transfer region of the transfer body and is configured to charge a surface of the transfer body with a polarity opposite to an applied voltage of the application unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a process unit, a heating unit, and a controller unit. The process unit is configured to transfer an image onto a sheet. The heating unit is configured to fix the image transferred at the process unit onto the sheet, and to transfer a transfer layer onto an image formed on a sheet overlaid on a multilayer film. The controller unit is capable of operating in a first printing mode in which processes of transferring an image at the process unit, fixing the image at the heating unit, and transferring the transfer layer at the heating unit are executed, and a second printing mode in which processes of transferring an image at the process unit and fixing the image at the heating unit are not executed, and a process of transferring the transfer layer at the heating unit is executed.

An image forming device including a gate mechanism reduces a noise generated when a sheet is conveyed. The image forming device includes a conveyance path and a gate. The conveyance path is branched into a plurality of paths, and the sheet is conveyed along a conveyance direction. The gate is provided at a position in the conveyance path at which the conveyance path is branched into the plurality of paths, and switches a path through which the sheet is conveyed. The image forming device rotates the gate in a direction in which a contact point of the gate, which faces a front surface of the sheet to be conveyed and is located at a position at which a trailing end of the sheet first comes into contact with the gate, and a front surface of the sheet to be conveyed face each other.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a reversing portion configured to reverse the sheet received through a first feeding passage by feeding the sheet in a first direction and then in a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sheet feeding portion provided in a second feeding passage branching from the first feeding passage on a side upstream of the reversing portion with respect to the first direction, a first guiding surface forming the second feeding passage for guiding a first surface of the sheet fed by the feeding portion, and a second guiding surface for guiding a second surface, opposite from the first surface, of the sheet fed from the reversing portion in the second direction. A measuring device includes a first roller pair, a colorimetric unit, a second roller pair, a third roller pair, a motor, and a torque limiter. The third roller pair is driven at a first speed before a trailing end of the sheet with respect to a sheet feeding direction passes through the first roller pair and is driven at a second speed higher than the first speed after the trailing end of the sheet passes through the first roller pair. The first speed is set so as to be equal to the peripheral speed of the first roller pair. An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: receive multiple print instructions; and generate a new print instruction including the multiple received print instructions, the new print instruction being an instruction in which at least one predetermined page is added to the top or end of a second print instruction, the second print instruction having a page count less than the page count of a first print instruction, the page count of the first print instruction being the highest among the multiple print instructions, the at least one added, predetermined page having a page count equal to the difference between the page count of the first print instruction and the page count of the second print instruction.

Example methods for cleaning a pick tire of a printer are disclosed, along with systems that may be used to carry out the disclosed methods. In an example, the method includes advancing print media from a print media storage tray with a pick tire disposed within a printer. In addition, the method includes stopping the advancement of the print media. Further, the method includes rotating the pick tire on the print media to clean the pick tire.
