METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECYCLED CARRIER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECYCLED ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE DEVELOPER, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND RECYCLED CARRIER
A method for producing a recycled carrier includes: performing classification, the classification including separating a carrier having a coating layer from a collected developer by a centrifugal air classifier, the collected developer containing the carrier and being obtained by collecting an electrostatic charge image developer remaining after image formation; and performing recoating, the recoating including dissolving or thermally melting a coating resin of the separated and classified carrier and then coating the resulting carrier again to produce a recycled carrier.
MARKING PHOTOCONDUCTORS OF PRINT APPARATUSES
A photoconductor marking apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a radiation source to emit radiation capable of irreversibly modifying photoconductive properties of a layer of a multi-layered photoconductor. The apparatus also includes processing apparatus to: determine a pattern to be applied to a photoconductor to be used in a print apparatus, the photoconductor having an imaging area within which print agent is to be deposited; and control the radiation source to direct radiation towards the photoconductor in a region outside the imaging area, so as to irreversibly modify photoconductive properties of a layer of the photoconductor according to the determined pattern. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.
Electrophotographic image forming apparatus and process cartridge
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus in which streak-like banding to be formed in an electrophotographic photosensitive member is suppressed. The electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photosensitive member, which has a protective layer, and a developer carrying member for supplying a developer. The protective layer contains a cured product containing an aromatic ring and an ester group, by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, when a peak area based on C═C stretching vibration of the aromatic ring is represented by S1, and a peak area based on C═O stretching vibration of the ester group is represented by S2, an area ratio S1/S2 is 0.10 to 0.27, and a rotation speed ratio D1/D2 of a rotation speed D1 of the developer carrying member to a rotation speed D2 of the electrophotographic photosensitive member is 0.80 to 1.20.

Method for controlling electrophotographic apparatus
There is provided a method for controlling an electrophotographic apparatus including forming a first measurement image by performing first halftone processing on image data, forming a second measurement image by performing second halftone processing different from the first halftone processing on the image data, measuring densities of the first measurement image and the second measurement image, calculating a density difference between each of densities of the measurement images, determining whether the density difference satisfies a predetermined reference value, and applying a surface treatment on an electrophotographic photosensitive member if the density difference does not satisfy the reference value, during a non-image formation period.
Image forming apparatus including a removably installable rotator
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, an image bearer, and a rotator opposed to the image bearer. The rotator is removably installable in the apparatus body. The image forming apparatus further includes a guide configured to guide the rotator in a longitudinal axial direction of the rotator toward a regular position where the rotator is installed in the apparatus body.
