Printing Method and System

A method of printing includes, applying to an intermediate transfer member (ITM) (44), one or more fluids that include at least a printing fluid for forming an image on the ITM (44). At least part of the image is transferred from the ITM (44) to a target substrate (50). Residues of the one or more fluids that were not transferred to the target substrate (50) and remained on the ITM (44), are transferred from the ITM (44) to one or more rotatable elements (112), and the residues are removed from the one or more rotatable elements (112).

Service system utilizing an endless cleaning surface

In an example of the disclosure, a blanket servicing system includes a rotatably mounted endless cleaning surface and a scraper. The endless cleaning surface is to have a first engagement with a blanket to obtain a layer of thermoplastic print agent from the blanket. The endless cleaning surface is to have a second engagement with the blanket to receive residue from the blanket onto the layer of thermoplastic print agent. The scraper is to scrape the endless cleaning surface to transfer the residue from the endless cleaning surface to a collection element.

FORCE ADJUSTMENT ARRANGEMENT

Disclosed is a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus that comprises a developer roller, a cleaning member to contact the developer roller with a contact force and a force adjustment arrangement to adjust the contact force.

SERVICING A DRUM AT A PRINTER

In an example of the disclosure, service rotation of a drum along a longitudinal axis of the drum is caused. The service rotation is to apply a centrifugal force upon a liquid held by the drum. The centrifugal force pushes gas bubbles in the drum away from a curved surface of the drum and towards the longitudinal drum axis. The gas bubbles evacuate from the drum via an outlet tube positioned adjacent to the longitudinal drum axis. A production rotation of the drum is caused after the service rotation.

An accumulation removal device includes a cleaning blade, a fluid supply device, and an instruction device. The cleaning blade is disposed so as to be in contact with a surface of an image holding member and cleans the surface of the image holding member after an image forming process has been performed. The fluid supply device supplies a fluid which contains solid particles to a position where the cleaning blade is disposed. The instruction device issues an instruction to cause the fluid supply device to supply the fluid at predetermined timing.

Cleaning a liquid electrophotographic printer

An example cleaning station for a liquid electrophotographic printer is described. The cleaning station has a first cleaning member, a second cleaning member, and a biasing member. The cleaning station is configured to move between a first position and a second position with respect to a photo imaging member of the printer. In the first position, the first cleaning member is arranged to remove particles from the photo imaging member of the printer and the second cleaning member is arranged to apply a force to a layer of liquid applied to the photo imaging member. In the second position, the biasing member is configured to cause the second cleaning member to contact the first cleaning member to clean the second cleaning member.
