A sheet processing apparatus includes a pair of belts, a water supplying unit, a curving unit and a controller. The pair of belts defines a conveying path for holding and conveying a paper sheet. The water supplying unit supplies water to outer surfaces of the belts. The curving unit curves the conveying path defined by the belts. The controller makes the water supplying unit supply water to the outer surfaces of the belts, and makes the belts convey the sheet between the belts in a state where the conveying path is curved by the curving unit to correct the curling of the sheet.

A paper humidifying device includes: a pair of humidifying rollers configured to apply moisture to paper when the paper is sandwiched and conveyed; a water feed roller configured to supply moisture to an outer peripheral surface of the pair of humidifying rollers; a dewatering unit configured to wipe off moisture on the outer peripheral surface of the pair of humidifying rollers; a first drive unit configured to cause the water feed roller to be separated from or abut on the pair of humidifying rollers; a second drive unit configured to cause the dewatering unit to be separated from or abut on the pair of humidifying rollers; and a control unit configured to control the first drive unit and the second drive unit.

A damper mechanism has first and second rail members, a biasing member, and a slide member. The first rail member is fixed inside the opening/closing member along the up/down direction, and has an oblong guide hole formed therein extending along the longitudinal direction. The second rail member has fixed to a top end part thereof an engaging pin inserted through the guide hole, and has a bottom end part swingably supported on the apparatus main body. The biasing member biases the first and second rail members in a direction in which these approach each other. The slide member is made of resin fixed to the engaging pin, slides while in contact with the first rail member and the opening/closing member, and prevents contact between the engaging pin and an inner circumferential rim of the guide hole.

A sheet humidification apparatus includes a pair of humidification rollers, a water supply section, and a control section configured to control humidification of the humidification rollers and water supply of the water supply section, and the control section refers to a contacting period between the humidification rollers to control the water supply such that a second water supply amount from the water supply section to the second humidification member is smaller than a first water supply amount from the water supply section to the first humidification member.

The image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a post-processing apparatus, wherein the image forming apparatus has a fixing unit configured to heat and press a recording sheet with a transferred toner image to fix the toner image to the recording sheet, and the post-processing apparatus has a humidifying unit configured to humidify the recording sheet with the toner image fixed by the fixing unit, and a voltage applying unit configured to apply a bias voltage to the recording sheet humidified by the humidifying unit.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a belt, a contact member, a rotation shaft member, a cam, an opposing member, and a damper. The belt receives a toner image from the image bearing member. The cam rotates in tandem with the rotation shaft member and contacts or separates the contact member and the belt. The opposing member is disposed to face the rotation shaft member in a direction intersecting with a rotation shaft member shaft direction. The damper member has a first flexible portion and a second flexible portion that are elastically deformable by contacting with the opposing member. In either contact operation or separation operation of the contact member to/from the belt, the damper member rotates in tandem with rotation of the rotation shaft member so that both the first flexible portion and the second flexible portion contact with the opposing member and are elastically deformed.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image holding section; a transfer section that has a transfer member, applies a transfer electric-field to a transfer region between the image holding section and the transfer member, and electrostatically transfers an image held by the image holding section onto a recording medium; contact sections that act as electrodes to ground while being in contact with the recording medium; a humidification section that is provided upstream of the transfer region and humidifies the recording medium; a first control section that performs control without humidification by the humidification section; a second control section that performs control to cause the humidification section to humidify the recording medium; and a selection section that selects the first control section or the second control section depending on a type of the recording medium.

An image forming apparatus comprises a housing, a cassette insertable into the housing to store printing sheets; an automatic mounting apparatus provided between the housing and the cassette and to allow the cassette to be mounted thereon, where the automatic mounting apparatus comprises an engaging portion configured to protrude on a side surface of the cassette, a rail portion provided in the housing, and a locking device provided at the rear side of the rail portion to interfere with the engaging portion.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a damper mechanism having a movable portion supported by a sheet storage portion and movable with respect to the sheet storage portion by abutting against a body in a case where the sheet storage portion is inserted to the body, and a resistance member. In addition, a first transmission portion actuates the resistance member to produce a resistive force and transmits the resistive force so that an insertion speed of the sheet storage portion is reduced when the sheet storage portion is inserted to the body, and a second transmission actuates the resistance member to produce the resistive force and transmits the resistive force so that a lowering speed of the sheet supporting member is reduced when the sheet storage portion with the sheet supporting member having been lifted by a lift portion is drawn out of the body.
