An image forming apparatus includes a reverse roller pair configured to reverse a conveyance direction of a recording medium between a first direction and a second direction, a first conveyance roller pair configured to convey the recording medium in the first direction, and a second conveyance roller pair configured to convey the recording medium in the second direction. A first distance is between the first conveyance roller pair and a reversal position in which a trailing edge of the recording medium is located when the conveyance direction is reversed. A second distance is between the reversal position and the second conveyance roller pair. An absolute value of a difference between the first distance and the second distance is an integer multiple of a circumferential length of a drive roller of the reverse roller pair or within a predetermined range from the integer multiple.

Provided is an image forming apparatus including a secondary transfer portion which transfers a toner image onto a recording material; a fixing device which fixes the toner image onto the recording material, and a belt conveying portion which adsorbs the recording material between the secondary transfer portion and the fixing device, and conveys the recording material, in which the belt conveying portion includes a first velocity at the time of receiving a front end portion of the recording material in a traveling direction from the secondary transfer portion, and a second velocity before a rear end portion of the recording material in the traveling direction leaves the secondary transfer portion at the time of delivering the front end portion of the recording material in the traveling direction to the fixing device, and the second velocity is faster than the first velocity.

A drive transmission device includes a drive train including a plurality of drive transmitters, and a container. The plurality of drive transmitters of the drive train transmit a driving force of a drive source to a rotator rotatable around a shaft and a swing member rotatable around a shaft different from the shaft of the rotator. The container contains the drive train.

An image-forming apparatus includes first and second photosensitive drums, first and second image-forming portion including first and second development rollers configured to bear developers composed of first and second toner particles and organosilicon protrusions formed on surfaces of the first and second toner particles, an intermediate transfer member to which a developer image is to be transferred in first and second contact portions in contact with the first and second photosensitive drums, and a transfer member configured to transfer the developer image to a recording material in a transfer portion. The first contact portion is formed downstream of the transfer portion and upstream of the second contact portion in a movement direction of the surface of the intermediate transfer member. A protrusion formed on the second developer has a lower height than a protrusion formed on the first developer.

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier that is capable of holding an image on a surface thereof while rotating, an image forming unit that forms the image on the image carrier, a transfer unit that transfers the image from the image carrier to a medium while rotating, a transport unit that circulates as the transfer unit rotates and that transports the medium to a transfer region while holding the medium, and a control unit that changes a timing at which the image forming unit forms the image in accordance with variation in a ratio of a rotation velocity of the transfer unit to a rotation velocity of the image carrier.

A sheet conveyance guide includes a sheet material. The sheet material has a surface to face a sheet when the sheet conveyance guide guides the sheet travelling in a conveyance direction. The sheet material has irregularities over a whole area of the surface.

A sheet conveying apparatus including: a pair of inlet rollers; a pair of outlet rollers; a pair of movable rollers disposed between the inlet rollers and the outlet rollers; a moving unit configured to move the movable rollers; a pair of upstream rollers disposed between the inlet rollers and the movable rollers; a pair of downstream rollers disposed between the movable rollers and the outlet rollers; a first conveyance belt passed over a first inlet roller, a first outlet roller, a first movable roller, a first upstream roller, and a first downstream roller; and a second conveyance belt passed over a second inlet roller, a second outlet roller, a second movable roller, a second upstream roller, and a second downstream roller. An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device, a conveyance rollers pair, a curved path and a first guide roller. The fixing device fixes a toner image on a sheet. The conveyance rollers pair conveys the sheet on which the toner image is fixed by the fixing device. The curved path is provided between the fixing device and the conveyance rollers pair, and the sheet is conveyed along the curved path with a toner image fixed surface facing an inner peripheral side of the curved path. The first guide roller is shiftable between a guide position protruding in the curved path from the inner peripheral side and the inner peripheral side. When the sheet is conveyed along the curved path, the first guide roller is pushed by the sheet while rotating following the sheet and then is shifted from the guide position to the inner peripheral side.

A fixing device includes: a heating section that heats in a non-contact manner a front surface of a recording medium; a feeding section that feeds the recording medium while causing the front surface to be opposed to the heating section; and a maintaining section that, in order to enable the recording medium to be fed by the feeding section while a rear surface that is opposite to the front surface, and that is in an image region where an unfixed-image is formed on the front surface is in a non-contact state, maintains the non-contact state.
