An image forming apparatus includes: a toner image forming section; a transfer section; a fixing section; a conveyance roller section disposed on a downstream side of the fixing section in a sheet conveyance direction; a conveyance guide section disposed on a downstream side of the conveyance roller section and including a first guide member disposed on a fixing side of a sheet and a second guide member disposed on a rear surface side of the sheet; a feeding-path-switching section disposed on a downstream side of the conveyance guide section and configured to switch sheet feeding paths; and a nip angle adjusting section configured to change a nip angle of a conveyance nip in accordance with whether a sheet on which an image is formed on a first surface thereof is conveyed, or a sheet on which an image is formed on a second surface thereof is conveyed.

A decurling device is provided on a downstream side with respect to a fixing device in a medium transporting direction and straightens a curl formed in a medium transported to the decurling device. The decurling device includes a bending unit extending across the medium transporting direction and that bends the medium in a decurling direction by coming into contact with a leading end of the medium; and a position adjusting unit that adjusts, in a medium crosswise direction, tilt of a contact part of the bending unit, the contact part coming into contact with the leading end of the medium exited from the fixing device.

An image forming apparatus that forms images on sheets, includes: a collection unit configured to collect history information relating to operation of the image forming apparatus; a selection unit configured to select, from among a plurality of accomplishment items, an accomplishment item relating to the operation of the image forming apparatus based on the history information; an acquisition unit configured to notify a user of one or more operation options related to the operation of the image forming apparatus that are for accomplishing the accomplishment item selected by the selection unit, and to acquire a selection result of whether or not the one or more operation options are to be used; and an operation control unit configured to control the operation of the image forming apparatus in accordance with the selection result.

A decurling device is provided on a downstream side with respect to a fixing device in a medium transporting direction and straightens a curl formed in a medium transported to the decurling device. The decurling device includes a bending unit extending across the medium transporting direction and having a guiding surface that guides a leading end of the medium, the leading end coming into contact with the guiding surface, the bending unit bending the medium in a decurling direction by using the guiding surface; an urging unit that urges the bending unit toward the medium; and a single or plural rotating members provided on a part of the guiding surface of the bending unit and rotating by coming into contact with the medium that is in contact with the guiding surface.

The image forming apparatus includes a crimping/release mechanism that switches between a crimping position where a transfer nip is formed and a release position where the intermediate transfer belt and the photosensitive drum are separated from each other, by moving at least one primary transfer section of a plurality of primary transfer sections provided facing a plurality of photosensitive drums respectively, and a processor that performs color misregistration adjustment when a combination of image forming units used for image formation is changed.

A decurling device is provided on a downstream side with respect to a fixing device in a medium transporting direction and straightens a curl formed in a medium transported to the decurling device. The decurling device includes a bending unit extending across the medium transporting direction and that bends the medium in a decurling direction by coming into contact with a leading end of the medium; and a position adjusting unit that adjusts, in a medium crosswise direction, tilt of a contact part of the bending unit, the contact part coming into contact with the leading end of the medium exited from the fixing device.

In a feeding direction of a recording material, a recording material cooling device is provided downstream of a fixing device, a curl reducing device is provided downstream of the recording material cooling device, and another recording material cooling device is provided downstream of the curl reducing device. By this configuration, occurrence of image defect by the recording material cooling device during the feeding of the recording material can be suppressed, and the curling of the recording material can be reduced after the recording material is cooled.

A decurling device is provided on a downstream side with respect to a fixing device in a medium transporting direction and straightens a curl formed in a medium transported to the decurling device. The decurling device includes a bending unit extending across the medium transporting direction and having a guiding surface that guides a leading end of the medium, the leading end coming into contact with the guiding surface, the bending unit bending the medium in a decurling direction by using the guiding surface; an urging unit that urges the bending unit toward the medium; and a single or plural rotating members provided on a part of the guiding surface of the bending unit and rotating by coming into contact with the medium that is in contact with the guiding surface.

Disclosed is an image forming apparatus, including: a first guide guiding one surface of a sheet downstream of a fixing unit fixing a toner image on the sheet and upstream of discharging rollers discharging the sheet to a stacking portion in a sheet conveying direction; a second guide facing the first guide, the second guide guiding the other surface of the sheet; protrusions with openings provided on the second guide in a sheet width direction orthogonal to the sheet conveying direction; recesses provided on the first guide in the sheet width direction, the recesses facing the protrusions; and a blower unit blowing air toward the sheet via the openings provided on the second guide, wherein a corrugated shape is formed in the width direction on the sheet to which air is blown by the protrusions provided on the second guide and the recesses provided on the first guide.
