According to an embodiment, an open and close detection device is provided with a moving member, a first lever, a second lever, and the like. The moving member is held to be movable by a holding member within a planar area including an initial position and a detection position. Each of the first lever and the second lever includes a contact guide section, and moves the moving member in association with a closing operation of an open and close member. Also, when one of the first lever and the second lever is to move the moving member, this movement is guided by the contact guide section of the other lever.

An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus having an apparatus main body, a sheet feeding cassette, a manual bypass tray, an opening/closing detection part and a sheet feeding source setting part. The apparatus main body has an input part to which a printing instruction is input. The manual bypass tray is displaced into an open posture and into a close posture. The sheet feeding source setting part sets the sheet feeding cassette or the manual bypass tray as a sheet feeding source. When the opening/closing detection part detects that the manual bypass tray is displaced from the close posture to the open posture and the printing instruction is input to the input part, regardless of the sheet feeding source input to the input part, the sheet feeding source setting part sets the manual bypass tray as the sheet feeding source.

A document reading device includes: a device body; a transport path that is provided in the device body and through which a document is transported; a reading unit that is provided in the device body, has a reading surface, and reads an image of a document transported through the transport path; a moving part that is provided in the device body and is capable of being moved to a covering position at which the moving part covers the reading surface and to an exposing position at which the moving part exposes the reading surface; a first opening and closing part that is provided on the device body so as to be opened and closed and opens the transport path, at a first opening position; and a second opening and closing part that is provided beside the device body so as to be opened and closed or so as to be removable and mountable and exposes the moving part, at a second opening position or a removal position.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit; a reverse conveying roller; a discharge unit including a reverse conveying path, an openable and closable member, an open/close sensor, a discharge tray, a sheet conveyance unit, and a failure detector; and a controller. If the controller determines that the sheet conveyance unit is in failure based on a detection result of the failure detector and determines that the openable and closable member is closed based on a detection result of the open/close sensor, the controller prohibits discharge of the sheet to the discharge tray and permits conveyance of the sheet to the reverse conveying path, and if the controller determines that the sheet conveyance unit is in failure and determines that the openable and closable member is open, the controller prohibits the conveyance of the sheet to the reverse conveying path.

According to an embodiment, an open and close detection device is provided with a moving member, a first lever, a second lever, and the like. An image forming apparatus including: an image forming unit; a reverse conveying roller; a discharge unit including: a reverse conveying path; an openable and closable member; an open/close sensor; a discharge tray; a sheet conveyance unit; and a failure detector; and a controller, wherein in a case in which the controller determines that the sheet conveyance unit is in failure based on a detection result of the failure detector and determines that the openable and closable member is closed based on a detection result of the open/close sensor, the controller prohibits discharge of the sheet to the discharge tray and permits conveyance of the sheet to the reverse conveying path, and in a case in which the controller determines that the sheet conveyance unit is in failure and determines that the openable and closable member is open, the controller prohibits the conveyance of the sheet to the reverse conveying path.

An electronic apparatus includes a main body, a door, and a projecting member. The door is attached to the main body to be openable and closable with respect to the main body and covers components contained in the main body. The projecting member projects from an inside surface of the door toward an interior of the main body. The projecting member is graspable by a user.

An electronic apparatus includes: a unit part that can be pulled out of a main unit; a cover part that is configured to, when being close, cover the unit part; a lock part that, when the cover part is being open, is movable to a first position where it is possible to pull the unit part out of the main unit and is movable to a second position where it is impossible to pull the unit part out of the main unit; a detection unit configured to, when being supplied with power, detect an internal state of the unit part; and a first power supply unit configured to shut off power supply to the detection unit when the lock part is moved to the first position, and supply power to the detection unit when the lock part is moved to the second position.
