An image forming apparatus includes: an annular transfer belt to which an image is transferred; a transfer roller that transfers an image to a recording medium when the recording medium passes through a transfer area formed between the transfer roller and the transfer belt; a drive mechanism that causes the transfer roller to rotate; and a speed adjustment mechanism that adjusts a rotational speed of the transfer roller achieved by the drive mechanism in units of a cycle of the transfer roller, and switches between a first adjustment pattern and a second adjustment pattern to execute switched adjustment pattern in a cycle including a state in which the transfer roller transports the recording medium, the first adjustment pattern for adjusting the rotational speed of the transfer roller, the second adjustment pattern for adjusting the rotational speed of the transfer roller with a pattern different from the first adjustment pattern.

A method of controlling a printing apparatus, comprises printing an image on a sheet; measuring a printing speed of the printing; and storing, for each printing speed measured in the measuring, a number of sheets printed in the printing.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus of the embodiment includes a roller, a plurality of developing units, an image forming unit, a sensor, and a control unit. The rollers carry a sheet. The plurality of developing units include different types of developing materials. The image forming unit forms a plurality of images on a transfer belt by the developing materials of each of the plurality of developing units. The sensor reads the plurality of images formed on the transfer belt. The control unit controls the speed of the roller based on the positions of the plurality of images read by the sensor.

A decoloring apparatus includes a decoloring assembly, a driver configured to drive the decoloring section, and a storage configured to store first setting information, as setting information when there is no next job, and second setting information, as setting information when there is a next job; and a controller. The controller is configured to perform control to drive the decoloring assembly based on conveyance speed and set temperature corresponding to a predetermined, coverage rate of the image receiving medium in the first setting information stored in the storage if there is no next job, or perform control to drive the decoloring assembly based on the conveyance speed and the set temperature corresponding to a predetermined coverage rate of the image receiving medium in the second setting information stored in the storage if there is a next job.

A decoloring apparatus includes a decoloring assembly, a driver configured to drive the decoloring section, and a storage configured to store first setting information, as setting information when there is no next job, and second setting information, as setting information when there is a next job; and a controller. The controller is configured to perform control to drive the decoloring assembly based on conveyance speed and set temperature corresponding to a predetermined, coverage rate of the image receiving medium in the first setting information stored in the storage if there is no next job, or perform control to drive the decoloring assembly based on the conveyance speed and the set temperature corresponding to a predetermined coverage rate of the image receiving medium in the second setting information stored in the storage if there is a next job.

A recording apparatus includes a controller configured to: decrease the number of recording pages which is stored in a storage in response to completion of recording on a recording medium on a page-by-page basis; increase the number of recording pages in response to an increase in an amount of image data in the storage; determine whether the number of recording pages is greater than or equal to a first number; control a drive source and a recording device to convey the recording medium at a first speed and perform recording when the number of recording pages is less than the first number; and control the drive source and the recording device to convey the recording medium at a second speed greater than the first speed and perform the recording when the number of recording pages is greater than or equal to the first number.

An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a conveyance belt which conveys a recording sheet via a position opposing the image carrier, a belt cleaner which removes adhered matters on the conveyance belt, a driving unit which drives the image carrier and the conveyance belt, a bias applying unit which applies a cleaning bias to the belt cleaner, and a controller which controls the driving unit and the bias applying unit such that when the image carrier is driven at a first speed, the cleaning bias is applied to the belt cleaner, and when the image carrier is driven at a second speed slower than the first speed, the cleaning bias is not applied to the belt cleaner.

An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance sensor disposed near a pair of conveyance rollers so as to accurately detect an amount of movement of the recording paper, a conveyance delay determination unit to determine a conveyance delay of the recording paper, and a conveyance control unit to control drive for rollers. The conveyance delay determination unit obtains conveyance delay information from among information detected with the conveyance sensor, or the like, and accelerates a rotational velocity of the pair of paper feed rollers when the conveyance delay quantity exceeds a threshold.
