DEVELOPING DEVICE FOR USE WITH TWO-COMPONENT DEVELOPER
20210373456 · 2021-12-02 ·

A developing device includes a developer roller to rotate in a rotation direction, a photosensitive body adjacent the developer roller, and an air flow passage extending through a non-image forming region at a longitudinal end of the developer roller. A closest position is defined where the developer roller and a photosensitive body are closest to one another. The air flow passage extends from inside the developing device and forms an air flow directed toward an upstream side of the closest position, relative to the rotation direction of the developer roller.

Developers

A developer for a printer for printing to a substrate; the developer comprising a plurality of rollers operable to influence forming an image; the plurality of rollers comprising a developer roller for bearing printing liquid for forming the image and a squeegee roller for cooperating with the developer roller to influence the printing liquid on the developer roller, the squeegee roller being operable, via a brake, to stop rotating relative to the developer roller to influence the printing liquid on the developer roller.

Container mounting structure, image forming unit, and image forming apparatus

A container mounting structure includes a container and a container mounting portion. The container extends in one direction and contains powder. The container is mounted to the container mounting portion by rotating the container disposed at a temporarily placed position in a circumferential direction of the container. In a state in which the container is mounted to the container mounting portion, the container mounting structure has contact sections where the container is in contact with the container mounting portion in a radial direction of the container. Each of the contact sections is disposed at corresponding one of at least three different positions in the circumferential direction. The container is in contact with the container mounting portion from inside in the radial direction at one subset of the contact sections and from outside in the radial direction at another subset of the contact sections.

Image forming apparatus controlling applied charging voltage based on potential of electrode film

In an image forming apparatus, a seal member is a non-conductive, flexible member supported by a developing device. The seal member is formed to project from an edge part of the developing device that faces an image carrying member, along a longitudinal direction of the image carrying member. The seal member fills a part of a gap between the developing device and an outer circumferential surface of the image carrying member. An electrode film is adhered to a surface of the seal member. The electrode film is a conductive film. A potential detecting device detects a potential of the electrode film. A charging controller controls a charging voltage based on a result of comparison between a predetermined reference potential and the potential detected by the potential detecting device.

In an image forming apparatus (10), a seal member (436) is a non-conductive, flexible member supported by a developing device (43). The seal member (436) is formed to project from an edge part (43b) of the developing device (43) that faces an image carrying member (41), along a longitudinal direction (D1) of the image carrying member (41). The seal member (436) fills a part of a gap between the developing device (43) and an outer circumferential surface of the image carrying member (41). An electrode film (437) is adhered to a surface of the seal member (436). The electrode film (437) is a conductive film. A potential detecting device (642) detects a potential of the electrode film (437). A charging controller (8b) controls a charging voltage based on a result of comparison between a predetermined reference potential and the potential detected by the potential detecting device (642).

Developer with toner and carrier, and image forming apparatus using the same

A developer according to an embodiment includes a toner having a color erasable by heating and a carrier. The carrier includes a core portion and a coating portion covering at least 50% of the core portion. The coating portion includes a white-colored additive agent which suppresses an increase in electrification due to friction between the toner and the carrier, a mass of the additive agent being between 20% and 60% of a total mass of the coating portion.
