An imaging system includes a developing chamber, a first conveyance path, a second conveyance path, a first air passage and a second air passage. A developing roller located in the developing chamber carries a developer to a developing region where the developing roller is closest to an image carrier. A first stirring-conveying portion is located in the first conveyance path adjacent the developing roller to supply the developer to the developing roller. A second stirring-conveying portion is located in the second conveyance path adjacent the first conveyance path to circulate the developer between the second conveyance path and the first conveyance path. The first air passage has an inlet coupled to the developing chamber and an outlet coupled to the second conveyance path, and the second air passage has an inlet coupled to the second conveyance path and an outlet coupled to the developing chamber.

Provided is a developing device having a first transport member and a second transport member that are disposed in a first transport path and a second transport path provided at an upper side and a lower side in a gravitational direction. The transport members transport a developer so as to cause the developer to circulate between the first transport path and the second transport path. A partition wall that separates the first transport path and the second transport path from each other and has an opening including an open-close member that opens and closes the opening.

An example device to develop an electrostatic latent includes first and second passages coupled to each other through first and second openings. A first stir-and-transport member located in the first passage includes a first helical blade to stir and transport a developer along the first passage in a first direction and to supply the developer to a developing roller. A second stir-and-transport member located in the second passage includes a second helical blade to stir and transport the developer along the second passage in a second direction. A developer discharge pipe is coupled to the developer container to communicate with a downstream side of the first passage. The first stir-and-transport member includes a first reverse helical blade having a pitch between approximately 0.5 times and 1.5 times the pitch of the first helical blade and located downstream of the first helical blade and disposed downstream of the second opening.

A developing device includes a developer carrying member for carrying a developer; a circulation path along which the developer is circulated; a carrier supplying portion; a discharge opening, provided in the circulation path, through which a portion of the developer is to be overflowed and discharged; and a feeding member comprising a rotation shaft and a blade portion including a helical portion. An outer diameter of the blade portion formed in a first region including at least a portion opposing the discharge opening is smaller than that in a second region adjacent to the first region with respect to a rotation shaft direction. A smaller average angle formed between the rotation shaft and a developer feeding surface of the blade portion in the first region is smaller than that in the second region.

A developing device includes a developing container, a detecting unit including a base portion and a detecting portion, a feeding path, a feeding screw, and a recessed portion provided on a side wall of the developing container. The recessed portion is disposed so as to project toward the feeding screw in the feeding path. The side wall includes a projected region projected toward the screw portion in the feeding path by the recessed portion and a region other than the projected region. The feeding screw includes a first screw portion opposing the projected region and a second screw portion opposing the region other than the projected region. The first screw portion includes a rotation shaft which includes a portion having a shaft diameter smaller than a shaft diameter of a rotation shaft of the second screw portion.

A toner conveying device includes a case that can store therein toner to be conveyed, a conveyance member rotatably supported at both ends thereof by the case and configured to rotate to convey the toner inside the case in a conveying direction set in advance, and a pushing member pushed against the conveyance member and configured to slide on an outer peripheral portion of the conveyance member as the conveyance member rotates. The pushing member includes a first sheet member having flexibility and abutting on the outer peripheral portion in a first direction intersecting with a rotational axis direction of the conveyance member to push the conveyance member and a second sheet member having flexibility and abutting on the outer peripheral portion in a second direction, which is different from the first direction, intersecting with the rotational axis direction to push the conveyance member.

A developing device includes a developer carrying member for carrying and feeding a developer, first and second chambers for circulating the developer, and a partition wall. A first feeding member feeds the developer in the first chamber in a first feeding direction, and a second feeding member feeds the developer in the second chamber. The second feeding member includes a shaft, a first helical portion for feeding the developer in a second feeding direction, and a second helical portion for feeding the developer in the first feeding direction. The second helical portion is provided on the shaft and provided downstream of the first helical portion via a region where no helical portion is provided. A rib is provided on a first inner surface of the second chamber, with the rib disposed opposite the region where no helical portion is provided and extending upwardly in a vertical direction.
DEVELOPING APPARATUS
A developing apparatus capable of suppressing an excessive discharge of developer from a developer discharge hole is disclosed. A first opening part through which developer is carried from a first case part to a second case part, and a developer discharge hole through which the developer is discharged are provided to the first case part. A first carrying member includes a counter blade between the first opening part and the developer discharge hole. The counter blade carries the developer in an opposite direction to a carrying direction of a first carrying blade of the first carrying member. A gap is prepared between an upper part of the counter blade and the first case part. A cross-sectional area of a discharge path for the developer from the counter blade to the developer discharge hole changes according to a progress of the developer along the discharge path.
DEVELOPING APPARATUS
A third communicating portion is disposed downstream of the first communicating portion and upstream of the second communicating portion in the first direction. The third communicating portion is disposed above a rotational axis of a first conveyance screw and a rotational axis of a second conveyance screw in a vertical direction. The third communicating portion is configured to allow air inside the developing container to move between the first chamber and the second chamber. An opening portion for discharging the air inside the developing container outside the developing container is disposed above the second chamber in the vertical direction.
