Image forming apparatus that controls primary fixing temperature and secondary fixing temperature
An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device, and a controller. The controller acts as a print controller, a drawing controller, and an engine controller. The print controller receives a printing request. The drawing controller identifies an image to be drawn, through image processing of a page image designated by the printing request with respect to each page, and identifies a use amount of toner required for the image to be drawn. The engine controller executes a primary fixing temperature control including controlling the fixing temperature according to color information designated by the printing request with respect to each page, and executes, after executing the primary fixing temperature control, a secondary fixing temperature control including controlling the fixing temperature according to the use amount of toner identified by the drawing controller.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method in which distances between image bearing members and transfer belt vary depending on mode
An image forming apparatus can inhibit an occurrence of downtime or shorten the downtime even in a case in which a mode for performing image formation and a position of, for example, a primary transfer member does not match. The image forming apparatus includes photosensitive drums each configured to bear a toner image, primary transfer members, an intermediate transfer belt, an abutment/separation mechanism configured to move the primary transfer members, and a controller. The controller brings the primary transfer members into contact with the photosensitive drums in a full-color mode, separates the primary transfer members from the photosensitive drums in a monochrome mode, and sets the position of the primary transfer members to a predetermined position between that in the full-color mode and the monochrome mode in a standby mode.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
Provided is an image forming apparatus that inhibits an occurrence of downtime or shortens the downtime even in a case where a mode for performing image formation and a position of, for example, a primary transfer member does not match. The image forming apparatus includes photosensitive drums each configured to bear a toner image, primary transfer members, an intermediate transfer belt, an abutment/separation mechanism configured to move the primary transfer members, and a controller. The controller brings the primary transfer member into contact with the photosensitive drum in a full-color mode, separates the primary transfer member from the photosensitive drum in a monochrome mode, and sets the position of the primary transfer member to a predetermined position between the full-color mode and the monochrome mode in a standby mode.
IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Provided is an image forming method including: forming, on a recording medium, a toner image including a white toner image and a color toner image disposed on the white toner image; and fixing the toner image onto the recording medium. In the fixing, the recording medium on which the toner image is formed is nipped between an annular belt, which includes an inner periphery that is at least partially supported by a heating member, and a facing member facing the heating member via the annular belt, and the toner image is fixed on the recording medium. The white toner and the color toner satisfy a relation of a following expression: 0.3log (W110)log (C100).
