IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus forms an image on a recording medium using first to fourth toners, and includes an intermediate transfer target; a primary transfer unit that transfers a first toner image, a second toner image, a third toner image, and a fourth toner image to the intermediate transfer target in stated order; and a secondary transfer unit that collectively transfers the first to fourth toner images onto the recording medium. The first toner image, the second toner image, the third toner image, and the fourth toner image include the first toner, the second toner, the third toner, and the fourth toner, respectively. The first to fourth toners each include toner particles. The toner particles each include a toner mother particle and an external additive attached to the surface of the toner mother particle. The external additive includes fluororesin particles and silica particles.
TONER
A toner includes toner particles. The toner particles each include a toner mother particle and an external additive attached to the surface of the toner mother particle. The external additive includes first external additive particles and fluorine-containing particles. The first external additive particles each include an aluminum oxide particle, a conductive layer covering the aluminum oxide particle, and a single-layer or multilayer protective layer covering the conductive layer. The conductive layer contains antimony tin oxide. The protective layer includes a layer containing a component derived from a titanate coupling agent, or includes an inner layer containing methylol melamine, urethane resin, or aluminum hydroxide and an outer layer containing a component derived from a silane coupling agent. The first external additive particles have a powder specific resistance of no greater than 50 Ω.Math.cm.
TONER COMPOSITIONS AND ADDITIVES
Disclosed herein is a toner composition, developer and additive for a toner composition. The toner composition includes toner particles comprising at least one resin, an optional colorant, an optional wax, and a polymeric toner additive on at least a portion of an external surface of the toner particles. The polymeric toner additive includes a polymeric resin comprising a cross-linked fluorinated acrylic monomer, a cross-linkable monomer containing two or more vinyl groups at 8 wt% to 40 wt% of the polymeric resin, and optionally a charge control agent comprising nitrogen containing group at 0.1 wt% to 1.5 wt% of the polymeric resin.

A toner includes toner particles. The toner particles each include a toner mother particle containing a binder resin and an external additive attached to a surface of the toner mother particle. The external additive includes fluororesin particles. The fluororesin particles have a number average primary particle diameter of at least 100 nm and no greater than 300 nm. An area ratio of a region of the surface of the toner mother particle that is covered with the fluororesin particles is at least 0.70% and no greater than 2.20% in the surface of the toner mother particle.

A toner includes toner particles. The toner particles each include a toner mother particle containing a binder resin and an external additive attached to a surface of the toner mother particle. The external additive includes fluorine-containing particles. The fluorine-containing particles include a fluorine atom at least in surface layers thereof. The amount of the fluorine-containing particles is at least 0.10 parts by mass and no greater than 0.50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the toner mother particles. When ultrasonication is performed, a residual amount ratio of remaining fluorine-containing particles is at least 0% by mass and no greater than 20% by mass relative to the amount of the fluorine-containing particles attached to the toner mother particles before the ultrasonication.
