Method and Master for Producing a Volume Hologram
A method for producing a volume hologram with at least one first area in a first color and at least one second area in a second color includes, providing a volume hologram layer made of a photopolymer; arranging a master with a surface structure on the volume hologram layer; exposing the master using coherent light, wherein light which is incident on at least one first partial area of the surface of the master is diffracted or reflected in the direction of the at least one first area of the volume hologram layer and light which is incident on at least one second partial area of the surface of the master is diffracted or reflected in the direction of the at least one second area of the volume hologram, and wherein the light diffracted or reflected by the first and second partial areas differs in at least one optical property.
Multi-Layer Body and Method for the Production Thereof
The invention relates to a multilayer body with a volume hologram layer and a partial opaque layer, arranged on a surface of the volume hologram layer, which is present in a first area and is not present in a second area. The invention furthermore relates to a method for the production of such a multilayer body, as well as a security element and security document with such a multilayer body.
Evacuated Periodic Structures and Methods of Manufacturing
Improvements to gratings for use in waveguides and methods of producing them are described herein. Deep surface relief gratings (SRGs) may offer many advantages over conventional SRGs, an important one being a higher S-diffraction efficiency. In one embodiment, deep SRGs can be implemented as polymer surface relief gratings or evacuated periodic structures (EPSs). EPSs can be formed by first recording a holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal (HPDLC) periodic structure. Removing the liquid crystal from the cured periodic structure provides a polymer surface relief grating. Polymer surface relief gratings have many applications including for use in waveguide-based displays.

Multi-layer body and method for the production thereof
A security document having a security element including a multilayer body with a volume hologram layer and a partial opaque layer, arranged on a surface of the volume hologram layer, which is present in a first area and is not present in a second area.
Laser Projection Apparatus and Methods for 3-D Image Production
Disclosed herein is a consumer laser light device for producing laser light effects with the use of an optical effects wheel. In some respects, the disclosure is direct to a device for selectively providing one of multiple optical effects manipulating a laser beam, including an optical effects wheel positioned in the light path, the optical effects wheel having a first optical effect engraved on a first portion of the optical effects wheel and a second optical effect engraved on a second portion of the optical effects wheel, wherein the first portion and the second portion partially overlap. The optical effects wheel may be further modified to ensure that the device complies with consumer safety requirements for laser light devices.
SPATIAL DEPOSITION OF RESINS WITH DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITY
Techniques disclosed herein relate to optical devices. Resins with different optical properties can be deposited in different areas to provide increased optical functionality. It can be difficult to design a single photopolymer material that meets several technical requirements. Different resins can be deposited on the same substrate to make a single film with spatially varying properties. Different resins can also be applied to different substrates in a stack. By using different resins, an optical component can be made that meets several technical requirements.

Method for Producing a Volume Hologram Film Having Security Elements Formed as Transfer Sections
A method for forming a volume hologram film having security elements which are formed as a transfer section of the volume hologram film is described, wherein the volume hologram film has n volume hologram layers arranged one over another. The production of the volume hologram film is carried out in a roll-to-roll method with the following method steps: a) providing a carrier film from a supply roll; b) applying an i-th photopolymer layer to the carrier film; c) forming an i-th volume hologram in the photopolymer layer; d) forming an i-th volume hologram layer by curing the i-th photopolymer layer; e) repeating process steps b) to e) n1 times; f) applying an adhesive layer to the background layer; g) winding the volume hologram film onto a take-up roll.
