Holographic display apparatus and method for providing expanded viewing window
A holographic display apparatus capable of providing an expanded viewing window and a display method are provided. The holographic display apparatus includes an image processor configured to provide computer generated hologram (CGH) data to a spatial light modulator, wherein the image processor is further configured to generate a hologram data array comprising information of the holographic image to be reproduced at the first resolution or a resolution less than the first resolution, perform an off-axis phase computation on the hologram data array at the second resolution, and then, generate the CHG data at the first resolution.
Holographic projection
A holographic projector comprises an image processing engine arranged to, a hologram engine and a display engine. The image processing engine is arranged to receive a source image for projection. The source image comprises a first colour component and a second colour component. The image processing engine is further arranged to form a first colour secondary image from the first colour component by nulling alternate pixel values of the first colour component in accordance with a first checkerboard pattern. The image processing engine is further arranged to form a second colour secondary image from the second colour component by nulling alternate pixel values of the second colour component in accordance with a second checkerboard pattern. The first checkerboard pattern is opposite to the second checkerboard pattern. The hologram engine is arranged to determine a first colour hologram corresponding to the first colour secondary image and a second colour hologram corresponding to the second colour secondary image. The display engine is arranged to form a first colour holographic reconstruction from the first colour hologram and a second colour holographic reconstruction from the second colour hologram.
Holographic Projection
A holographic system comprises an image processor, a hologram calculator and a display driver. The image processor is arranged to determine first and second secondary images by sampling the pixel values of a primary image at a regular array of sampling positions. The hologram calculator is arranged to determine a hologram of each secondary image. The display driver is arranged to display each hologram in rapid succession on a display device, first and second times, so as to reconstruct each secondary image from the respective hologram such that respective first and second arrays of image pixels corresponding to the primary image are perceivable. Image pixels of the reconstruction of the second secondary image are interposed between image pixels of the reconstruction of the first secondary image in the first direction.
SPATIAL LIGHT MODULATOR
A liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator comprising an array of light-modulating pixels and a controller are disclosed. Each light-modulating pixel of the array comprises liquid crystal and is associated with a respective flip-flop. The controller receives a hologram of an image comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel comprises a respective n-bit hologram pixel value. The controller drives each light-modulating pixel in accordance with a respective hologram pixel value of the hologram. There is a one-to-n pixel correlation between the hologram and the light-modulating pixels. The flip-flops of each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels are connected in series to form a shift register. During operation of the shift register, the n-bit hologram pixel value associated with each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels is provided to each light-modulating pixel one bit at a time over the course of at least n clock cycles.
Holographic display apparatus and method for providing expanded viewing window
Provided is a holographic display apparatus including a light source configured to emit light, a spatial light modulator configured to form a hologram pattern to modulate the light incident thereon and reproduce a hologram image, the spatial light modulator including a plurality of display pixels that are arranged two-dimensionally, and an optical element provided opposite a light incidence surface of the spatial light modulator or a light exit surface of the spatial light modulator, the optical element including an array of a plurality of light transmission patterns that are arranged irregularly.
Method and device for holographic opto-fluidic microscopy
A method and system of imaging a moving object within a microfluidic environment includes illuminating a first side of a flow cell configured to carry the moving object within a flow of carrier fluid with an illumination source emitting at least partially coherent light, the at least partially coherent light passing through an aperture prior to illuminating the flow cell. A plurality of lower resolution frame images of the moving object are acquired with an image sensor disposed on an opposing side of the flow cell, wherein the image sensor is angled relative to a direction of flow of the moving object within the carrier fluid. A higher resolution image is reconstructed of the moving object based at least in part on the plurality of lower resolution frame images.
HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY SIMULATION DEVICE AND METHOD
A holographic display simulation device and a holographic display simulation method are provided. A holographic display simulation device includes a processor; and a memory including one or more instructions, wherein the one or more instructions are executed by the processor, and a holographic display is simulated by using at least one of a light source part model, a spatial light modulator model, and a display optical system model that respectively model a light source part, a spatial light modulator, and a display optical system of the holographic display.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND SYSTEM
An image processing engine and method of forming a hologram of a target image for projection using data streaming. An input or primary image is sub-sampled using a kernel and the secondary image output used to generate a hologram of the target image. A technique of kernel sub-sampling using a plurality of two or more data streams provides improvements in efficiency, including reduced data storage requirements and increased processing speed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEEP LEARNING-BASED COLOR HOLOGRAPHIC MICROSCOPY
A method for performing color image reconstruction of a single super-resolved holographic sample image includes obtaining a plurality of sub-pixel shifted lower resolution hologram images of the sample using an image sensor by simultaneous illumination at multiple color channels. Super-resolved hologram intensity images for each color channel are digitally generated based on the lower resolution hologram images. The super-resolved hologram intensity images for each color channel are back propagated to an object plane with image processing software to generate a real and imaginary input images of the sample for each color channel. A trained deep neural network is provided and is executed by image processing software using one or more processors of a computing device and configured to receive the real input image and the imaginary input image of the sample for each color channel and generate a color output image of the sample.
