Method for Producing a Volume Hologram Film Having Security Elements Formed as Transfer Sections

A method for forming a volume hologram film having security elements which are formed as a transfer section of the volume hologram film is described, wherein the volume hologram film has n volume hologram layers arranged one over another. The production of the volume hologram film is carried out in a roll-to-roll method with the following method steps: a) providing a carrier film from a supply roll; b) applying an i-th photopolymer layer to the carrier film; c) forming an i-th volume hologram in the photopolymer layer; d) forming an i-th volume hologram layer by curing the i-th photopolymer layer; e) repeating process steps b) to e) n1 times; f) applying an adhesive layer to the background layer; g) winding the volume hologram film onto a take-up roll.

A security element is described includes a transparent first layer having a holographic surface structure, a first metal layer arranged on the first layer in a first pattern having transparent and non-transparent regions and a holographic surface structure, a second layer having a second holographic surface structure, and a second metal layer arranged on the second layer in a second pattern having transparent and non-transparent regions and a holographic surface structure. The, transparent regions of the first metal layer and the second metal layer are arranged to at least partly overlap each other and the non-transparent regions of the metal layers develop holographic effects on both sides of the security element which effects may be different. A process is described for making the security element, wherein an embossable radiation-sensitive polymer material is used to form the second layer.

Identification medium

An identification medium can be affixed to cloth or leather products by sewing. A cholesteric liquid crystal layer on which an embossed surface for forming a hologram is formed, is sandwiched between a first supporting member and a second supporting member.
