Alarm clock with charging ports

An alarm clock is provided that has a housing, one or more charging ports, an audio transducer, an alarm control device, a display, and a controller. The charging ports are mounted in a surface of the housing and provide power from a power supply to an external device. The controller receives input signals from the alarm control device and sends output signals to the audio transducer and the display. When the controller receives input signals from the alarm control device, it responds by displaying and setting a desired alarm time on the display, and by arming an alarm function. While the alarm function is armed, if a current time matches the alarm time, the controller causes the audio transducer to emit an alarm sound. When the controller receives another input signal from the alarm control device, it responds by taking the alarm time off the display, disarming the alarm function, and, if the alarm sound is being emitted, quieting the alarm sound. The alarm function remains disarmed until the controller receives yet another input signal from the alarm control device, and in response rearms the alarm function.

The present invention relates to an apparatus such as a clock with an electronics dock that is twistable relative to a body and with a rotatable connecting port having a plurality of heads. The body has a top generally lying in a plane, a first face with a display and a second face with a display. An electronics dock is secured relative to the body in a twistable manner relative to the body top. In this regard, an electronic device held within the electronics dock can be selectively rotated for viewing about an axis that is generally perpendicular to the body top. Further, a connecting port with multiple charging heads is provided, such as for Android or Apple type devices. The connecting port can be rotated about an axis to allow access to the desired head. A lock is provided to hold the desired head in position for use.

Systems and methods for dimming an alarm clock with three displays

The disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for dimming an alarm clock with three displays. An alarm clock can include three displays each positioned on a different side of the alarm clock to allow the alarm clock to be read from different vantage points. In some implementations, the alarm clock can include a front display, a right side display, and a left side display. Each display can have multiple brightness settings. Each display also can have a respective dimming button to allow a user to select a desired brightness level. In some implementations, the dimming button for the front display can serve as a master dimming button by controlling the brightness of all three of the displays, while the right side dimming button and the left side dimming button control only the brightness setting for the right side display and the left side display, respectively.
