Mid-air volumetric visualization movement compensation

A wearable computing device generates a volumetric visualization at a first position that is located in a three-dimensional space. The wearable computing device includes a volumetric source configured to create the volumetric visualization. The wearable computing device includes one or more sensors configured to determine movement of the wearable computing device. A movement of the wearable computing device is identified by the wearable computing device. Based on the movement the wearable computing device adjusts the volumetric source.

Modular sensing assembly for an electronic device

A modular sensing assembly may be used to detect user inputs at an electronic device. Example user inputs include touch inputs, fingerprint inputs, translational inputs, audio inputs, biometric inputs, and the like. Inputs received using the modular sensing assembly may be used to control a graphical output of a display of the electronic device. A modular sensing assembly may be configured, for example, as a power button, a key of a keyboard, a control button (e.g., volume control), a home button, a watch crown, and so on.

Method and apparatus for automatically setting alarms and notifications

A processor-based personal electronic device (such as a smartphone) is programmed to automatically respond to data sent by various sensors from which the user's activity may be inferred. One or more alarms on the device may be temporarily disabled when sensor data indicates that the user is asleep. One or more of the sensors may be worn by the user and remote from the device. A wireless communication link may be used by the device to obtain remote sensor data. Data from on-board sensors in the device—such as motion sensors, location sensors, ambient light sensors, and the like—may also be used to deduce the user's current activity. User data (such as calendar entries) may also be used to determine likely user activity and set alarms accordingly. Biometric data from a second, nearby person may also be used to automatically select certain alarm modes on a first person's device.

Methods and devices for aligning miniaturized spectrometers and impedance sensors in wearable devices

A method, system, apparatus, and/or device to determine a condition of a user using multiple sensors. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include: a band configured to extend at least partially around a body part of a user having a subdermal feature within body part; a light configured in the band to emit light into the body part; a miniaturized spectrometer positioned in the band to press against the body part to receive the light, where the miniaturized spectrometer comprises: an optical filter configured to isolate a relevant constituent wavelength of the light; a collimator configured to collimate the light; and an optical sensor configured to detect an intensity of the relevant constituent wavelength; and an impedance sensor integrated into the band and configured to be positioned against a same side of the body part as the miniaturized spectrometer.

Intelligent wake-up system

A dynamic wake-up alarm is provided-for, including a clock, a contactless biometric sensor, a processor, memory, and a speaker. The processor may be configured to receive a wake-up rule based on at least two wake-up criteria including a time from the clock and data from the biometric sensor, and evaluate whether the criteria are met to activate an alarm.

PHYSICAL WATCH HANDS FOR A COMPUTERIZED WATCH

A computerized watch is described that includes a cover that forms an outer surface of the computerized watch, a screen configured to output graphical information for display, a set of physical watch hands positioned between the cover and the screen and configured to present a time of day. One or more computer processors and a memory comprising instructions. The instructions, when executed, cause the one or more computer processors to responsive to determining that the computerized watch is operating in a time display mode, manipulate the set of physical watch hands such that the set of physical watch hands present the time of day by obscuring a portion of a display region of the screen, and responsive to determining that the computerized watch is not operating in the time display mode, manipulate the set of physical watch hands such that the set of physical hands do not obscure the screen.

Wearable device with integrated flashlight

A wrist-wearable electronic device comprising first and second light emitting elements, a sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to transmit a first command to the first light emitting element in response to the wrist-wearable device reaching a forward position relative to a user based on data received from the sensor and transmit a second command to the second light emitting element in response to the wrist-wearable device reaching a rearward position relative to the user based on the data from the sensor.
