Graphical and text based co-design editor for industrial automation projects

An industrial IDE supports development of control programming using an industrial domain-specific language (DSL) that allows control programming to be written using a scripted programming language having features catered to the industrial domain. The industrial DSL can simplify and streamline development of industrial control code relative to using conventional graphics-based control programming formats such as ladder logic, since a script-based industrial DSL can be used to write programming code using fewer mouse clicks relative to traditional control programming environments. Editing tools inherent to the industrial DSL can provide dynamic programming feedback that guides the developer through the process of developing control code. A development interface of the industrial IDE can comprises two editing windows that render the control program in a graphical format and in a text-based format simultaneously, allowing the user to edit the program in either format on the same interface.

The system further comprises a notification component configured to surface a notification that the variable is in the control logic but is not used in the operational data.

VARIABLE RELATIONSHIP DISCOVERY AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION ENVIRONMENTS

Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to solutions for improving industrial automation programming and data science capabilities with machine learning. More specifically, embodiments of the present technology include systems and methods for implementing machine learning engines within industrial programming and data science environments to improve performance, increase productivity, and add functionality. In an embodiment, a system comprises a machine learning-based analysis engine configured to identify a variable that is available to be utilized in control logic for controlling an industrial automation environment. The machine learning-based analysis engine is further configured to determine that the variable is not utilized in the control logic. A recommendation component of the system is configured to, in an industrial programming environment, surface a recommendation to add the variable to the control logic.

Playback Modification Based On Proximity

Techniques described herein may involve modification of playback based on the proximity of a user to a playback device. An example technique involves a device determining that a listener is within a given proximity of a first playback device and based on determining that the listener is within the given proximity of the first playback device, causing the first playback device to begin playback of first media and causing a second playback device to modify playback of second media.

Hierarchical data binding for industrial control systems

A system provides a design interface for designing and implementing graphical user interfaces that users can access through web browsers. Depending on the configuration of the graphical user interfaces, the users may be able to monitor and control industrial processes by interacting with components that correspond to the industrial processes as displayed in user interfaces at client devices. The design interface includes functionality for selecting preprogrammed components, or for generating new components for display. The design interface further allows designers to associate data values received from a variety of sources with properties of the components in the user interfaces. In particular, properties associated with a component of an interface are stored in property tree structures, making dynamic changes to the components possible. Data bindings between subtrees representing components and sets of data from industrial and other sources allows for designs that scale with the availability of the data.
