Anomaly detection and notification of electric arc furnace, system and method
A method for identifying, classifying, and sending notification of an electric arc furnace's (EAF) anomalies to improve the EAF efficiency. The method includes the steps of establishing baseline state measurements of the EAF, receiving new state measurements of the EAF and statistically testing the new state measurements against the baseline state measurements. The method further includes the steps of identifying as an anomaly a failed statistical test, classifying the identified anomaly and sending notification of the classified anomaly to a configurable list of recipients.
System and method for determining manufacturability and process planning for hybrid manufacturing using symbolic, logical, and/or combinatorial representations
A computer is provided with a geometric representation of an as-designed part and a set of hybrid manufacturing capabilities. The computer computes a set of additive and subtractive manufacturing primitives from the provided set of hybrid manufacturing capabilities, and intersects the primitives to generate an atomic decomposition of space. The computer uses the atomic decomposition to generate a non-geometric representation of a space of manufacturable parts with hybrid manufacturing capabilities in at least one of symbolic, logical, and combinatorial forms. At least one of a necessary, sufficient, or necessary-and-sufficient condition for manufacturability is tested via examining the non-geometric representation for the existence of at least one feasible process plan whose outcome is an as-manufactured part that is interchangeable with the as-designed part.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING MANUFACTURABILITY AND PROCESS PLANNING FOR HYBRID MANUFACTURING USING SYMBOLIC, LOGICAL, AND/OR COMBINATORIAL REPRESENTATIONS

Controller Augmenting Existing Control System
An augmenting controller for augmenting control of an actuator by a component controller. The actuator is operable to change an operational parameter of a component of a drilling rig. The component controller is configured for communicating control signals to the actuator to control the actuator and thereby control operation of the component. The augmenting controller is operable to augment the control signals.

Control unit, data refresh method, and data refresh program
A control unit includes: a memory; a computation control part; and an input and output unit for connecting the computation control part to a device of an (FA) system. A system program includes a data refresh program for executing a data refresh of data of the device and the control data of the memory via the input and output unit. If the computation control part receives a change of a control program, the computation control part stops executing the control program. The computation control part executes the change of the control program while executing a part of the system program including the data refresh, and resumes executing the control program.
Optimizing a water recovery system
Embodiments of the present invention provides a systems and methods for conserving liquids. The system detects, via sensors, if an object is interrupting the liquid flowing between a faucet and a drain. If the system detects an object is interrupting the flowing liquid, then the system routes the flowing liquid to a first destination using a diverter valve associated with the drain. The diverter valve is controlled by a microprocessor and connected to the sensors. However, if there are no object interrupting the flowing liquid, then the system routes the flowing liquid to a second destination.
OPTIMIZING A WATER RECOVERY SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present invention provides a systems and methods for conserving liquids. The system detects, via sensors, if an object is interrupting the liquid flowing between a faucet and a drain. If the system detects an object is interrupting the flowing liquid, then the system routes the flowing liquid to a first destination using a diverter valve associated with the drain. The diverter valve is controlled by a microprocessor and connected to the sensors. However, if there are no object interrupting the flowing liquid, then the system routes the flowing liquid to a second destination.
Controller augmenting existing control system
An augmenting controller for augmenting control of an actuator by a component controller. The actuator is operable to change an operational parameter of a component of a drilling rig. The component controller is configured for communicating control signals to the actuator to control the actuator and thereby control operation of the component. CONTROL UNIT, DATA REFRESH METHOD, AND DATA REFRESH PROGRAM
A control unit includes: a memory; a computation control part; and an input and output unit for connecting the computation control part to a device of an (FA) system. A system program includes a data refresh program for executing a data refresh of data of the device and the control data of the memory via the input and output unit. If the computation control part receives a change of a control program, the computation control part stops executing the control program. The computation control part executes the change of the control program while executing a part of the system program including the data refresh, and resumes executing the control program.
