A control system for a technical plant includes an operator station server and one operator station client, wherein a data model is implemented on the operator station server and the operator station client has display and control units, where the operator station server transmits visualization information representing the data model to the display unit that generates a graphical presentation of the received visualization information for an operator of the control system, receives commands relating to the data model from the operator and forwards them to the control unit, and where the control unit receives the commands, generates revised visualization information and transmits this information directly to the display unit to adjust the graphical presentation of the display unit, generates adjustment commands from the received commands and transmits them directly to the data model on the operator station server to adjust the data model in response to the operator commands.

Process image within controllers enabling visibility and accessibility of real world objects

A system for using digital twins to interact with physical objects in an automation system includes a plurality of controller devices, a process image backbone, and a registry comprising a plurality of digital twins. Each respective controller device comprises a volatile computer-readable storage medium comprising a process image area. The process image backbone provides the controllers with uniform access to the process image area of each controller. Each digital twin in the registry corresponds to a physical device controllable via one of the controllers devices via a corresponding process image area.

Power systems and methods of controlling power systems are disclosed. The system may include a power plant system (PPS) including a component and at least one computing device in communication with the PPS. The computing device(s) may be configured to control the PPS by performing processes including determining if an operational anomaly for the component occurred during operation of the PPS. In response to determining that the operational anomaly did not occurr, the computing device(s) may also perform processes including determining a first operational reliability of the component. In response to determining the operational anomaly occurred, the computing device(s) may also perform processes including determining a second operational reliability of the component based on the determined operational anomaly. Additionally, the computing device(s) may perform processes including adjusting operation of the PPS in response to the first operational reliability or the second operational reliability exceeding a predetermined operational reliability threshold.
