The present invention relates to a method, device, and system for transmitting a program and parameter to a PLC. An adapter connecting to a port of a PLC allows an operator to simply (i) log in on a cloud server with use of a mobile terminal on which an APP is installed, (ii) download a written program or parameter, and (iii) transmit the program or parameter directly to the adapter wirelessly to transmit the program or parameter to the PLC via the adapter. An alternative embodiment may be arranged such that the cloud server transmits, to an APP of the mobile terminal over a mobile network, an instruction on what data to sample and that the APP accesses the PLC via the adapter, obtains the data, and feeds back the data to the cloud server. This simplifies the operation for updating and maintaining a program and/or parameter of a PLC and reduces costs.

A facility control service and programmable logic controller (PLC) interfaces enable coordination and optimization of control of various PLCs that use various PLC specific protocols. The facility control service sends control commands formatted in accordance with a secure protocol and respective PLC interfaces convert the control commands into respective PLC specific protocols. In some embodiments, a facility control service employs machine learning techniques to optimize control of PLCs at a facility. Also, in some embodiments, a facility control service coordinates deployment of PLC software to various PLCs in one or more facilities that use various PLC specific protocols.

A process calibrator is formed with functions of a fieldbus communicator. Preferably, functions of a fieldbus communicator support several fieldbus protocols, and it is provided such that the use of it does not hamper the functioning of a process calibrator. This has been achieved by providing the process calibrator with a pair of fieldbus connecting terminals for measuring of the fieldbus signal. The process calibrator comprises a processor, and the pair of fieldbus connecting terminals comprises a signal terminal and a ground terminal. The process calibrator further comprises at least two parallel fieldbus protocol units between the processor and the signal terminal of the pair of fieldbus connecting terminals. Each fieldbus protocol unit is dedicated to its respective fieldbus protocol. Further, the process calibrator comprises a selection unit for selecting a fieldbus protocol unit and a voltage unit for being between the terminals of said pair of fieldbus connecting terminals, which voltage unit is arranged to adjust the voltage and the impedance according to the selected fieldbus protocol unit. The selecting unit is controlled manually through the user interface. The user interface is realized by a touch screen or a combination of a touch screen and keyboard or only by a keyboard.
