A system and method for logging state data from a power system control device on a computer system is disclosed. The computer system includes a power system supplying power to the computer system. The power system has a power-up sequence having a plurality of stages. The power system control device is coupled to the power system. The power system control device includes a finite state machine circuit having states corresponding to the stages of the power-up sequence. The control device also has a write controller, a storage buffer, and a communication interface. The write controller writes the state of the finite state machine circuit in the storage buffer. An external controller is coupled to the communication interface and is operable to read the stored state data.

The storage unit stores a plurality of configuration files, one of the configuration files corresponds to a circuit type of the controlling circuit. The detecting pin is adapted to retrieve the circuit type. The converting unit converts the data type to said another data type and selectively outputs said another data type from the output interface. The computing unit loads the configuration file corresponding to the circuit type and control the converting unit to configure the I/O interface according to the configuration file.

A device may monitor an intake temperature of an air flow through an air intake of a building that includes a ventilation system for temperature control of a first region of the building, a liquid cooling system for temperature control of equipment that is within a second region of the building, and a heat exchanger that is thermally coupled to the ventilation system and the liquid cooling system. The device may determine that the intake temperature is below a threshold temperature. The device may control the ventilation system to cause the air flow to cool a water flow of the liquid cooling system via the heat exchanger to produce a cooled water flow. The device may control the liquid cooling system to cause the cooled water flow of the liquid cooling system to bypass a chiller system of the liquid cooling system to reduce power consumption by the chiller system.

The method further includes compressing, with a first processor in the drilling assembly, the data block by a block-based compression technique to generate compressed data. The method further includes transmitting, with a telemetry system, the compressed data from the downhole location to the surface. The method further includes decompressing, with a second processor at the surface, the compressed data to generate decompressed data values. The method further includes controlling the drilling assembly based on the decompressed data values.
