A system (1) for assisting a field operator, in particular a maintenance field operator, by a remote assistant (51) equipped with a viewer (50) comprises a first group of components configured to be connected to a support (10) wearable on the operator's head, including a first video camera (11), a local viewer (13) arranged to be watched by the operator, a first control unit (15) and a first wireless connection interface (19). The system also comprises a handpiece (20) providing a visual sensor (21) such as a video camera or a thermal imaging camera, a serial port (24) for connecting a peripheral device (30) such as an instrument or a sensor or a video source, a second control unit (25) and a second connection interface (26). The connection interfaces (15,25) are configured for mutually changing, locally or through a remote server (99) available through a data network (3), data streams (12,22,32) coming from the video camera (11), from the visual sensor (21) or from the peripheral device (30), respectively, intended to be displayed by the local viewer (13). Moreover, the connection interfaces are configured for exchanging the data streams with the assistants (51) remote viewer (50) through the remote server (99). The system (1) also comprises a scenario-switching device (80) for displaying a same data stream of interest (42) at the same time to the local viewer (13) and to the remote viewer (50), said data stream of interest selected among data streams (12,22,32) related to the scenarios (11′,21′) framed by the video camera (11) and by the visual sensor (21), respectively, and to the data obtained from the peripheral device (30).

The acquisition unit acquires the information on the repair of the apparatus and writes the information in the storage unit. The operation content determination unit determines operation content of the temporary operation. The information on the repair of the apparatus includes information on a repair request for the abnormality of the apparatus. The operation content determination unit determines the operation content of the temporary operation in accordance with whether the repair request is present or not.

A method is provided for diagnosing a failure on an aircraft that includes aircraft systems and monitors configured to report effects of failure modes of the aircraft systems. The method includes receiving a fault report that indicates one or more of the monitors that reported the effects of a failure mode in an aircraft system of the aircraft systems, and accessing a fault pattern library that describes relationships between possible failure modes and patterns of those of the monitors configured to report the effects of the possible failure modes. The method also includes diagnosing the failure mode of the aircraft system from the one or more of the monitors that reported, and using the fault pattern library and a greedy selection algorithm, determining a maintenance action for the failure mode; and generating a maintenance message including at least the maintenance action.

A defect prediction device is provided with a storage device, a processor and an interface. The storage device stores tool data that represent physical characteristics and a shape of a tool, cutting data that represent a group of parameters of a cutting process to be performed to a workpiece by use of the tool and material data that represent physical characteristics and a shape of the workpiece. The processor performs an analysis of deformation of the workpiece due to a cutting force and an analysis of fracture due to the deformation, and performs a prediction of an occurrence of defect and/or a non-occurrence of defect of the workpiece due to the cutting process.

The method includes receiving discontinuous system data that is obtained intermittently and is associated with health of the system and generating a discontinuous health index that is based on the discontinuous system data and receiving continuous system data that is obtained continuously and is associated with the health of the system and generating a continuous health index that is based on the continuous system data, wherein the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index are configured to be combinable. The method further includes combining the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index, generating an overall health index based on the combination of the discontinuous health index and the continuous health index, and automatically taking one or more actions to maintain or improve health of the mechanical system and/or avoid risk based on the overall health index.

A predictive maintenance system for an irrigation system includes one or more sensors configured to generate a signal indicative of abnormal operation within the irrigation system, the sensors electrically coupled to a drive system, a processor, and a memory. The memory includes instructions stored thereon, which when executed by the processor cause the predictive maintenance system to receive the generated signal, determine abnormal operation of the drive system based on the generated signal, and predict, by a machine learning model, a maintenance requirement of the drive system based on the determined abnormal operation.
