A transport refrigeration system including: a transport refrigeration unit configured to refrigerate a refrigerated cargo space within a transport container; and a sensor system including one or more sensors configured to detect whether the refrigerated cargo space is empty or free of perishable goods, wherein the sensor system is configured to transmit a message to at least one of the transport refrigeration unit or a user device, the message indicating that the refrigerated cargo space is empty or free of perishable goods, and wherein the transport refrigeration unit is configured to shut off or return to an atmospheric temperature when the refrigerated cargo space is empty or free of perishable goods in response to least one of the message from the sensor system or a command from the user device.

In embodiments of a thermal and environmental control system an off-grid cold-storage facility has solar photovoltaic panels for producing electricity. A battery is in operable connection with the solar photovoltaic panels and configured to store the electricity produced by the solar photovoltaic panels. Cooling equipment is in operable connection to the battery and configured to regulate the temperature of the off-grid storage facility. Ventilation equipment is in operable connection to the battery to regulate air humidity and gas concentrations. A computer processor is provided at the off-grid storage facility and is in operable connection with the cooling equipment. The computer processor is configured to provide a regulating signal to the cooling equipment for optimizing battery usage, thermal setpoint, and environmental conditions. A cloud-based computing system is in operable communication to weather data and in operable communication to the computer processor. The cloud-based computing system is configured to compute optimized battery usage, thermal setpoint, and environmental conditions of the off-grid storage facility based on the weather data.

A control system and a control method of refrigeration in a closed space based on computer vision are provided. An image of a food, temperature and humidity information in the closed space are collected, and a type of the food is identified according to the image. The image is processed through Euler video amplification when food is not packaged to obtain surface color distribution information of the food, a state of the food is determined according to the surface color distribution information and a historical learning result, and a state prompt corresponding to the state of the food is provided to a user. Temperature and humidity in the closed space are regulated according to the state of the food. The state of the food is determined according to storage time and a known quality guarantee period when the food is packaged, and another state prompt is provided to the user.

Disclosed are systems and methods for managing secure refrigerated bin systems. A system receives a request to access a respective compartment of a plurality of compartments in a dispensing device. Responsive to receiving the access request-and identifying one or more medications in the respective compartment, a safe temperature range specific to the identified one or more medications is determined, and a temperature of the respective compartment is determined using a respective temperature sensor of the respective compartment. The system determines whether the determined temperature of the respective compartment is within the safe temperature range of the identified one or more medications causes an alert to be displayed when the determined temperature of the respective compartment is outside of the safe temperature range of the identified one or more medications.
