PARTS PROCESSING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD

A parts processing assistance system includes a three dimensional measurement unit for acquiring a three dimensional measured data about a part, a display unit for displaying the part based on the three dimensional measured data, and a virtual assembly unit for virtually assembling the part displayed by the display unit on the display unit. According to this system, assembly error can be confirmed before an actual assembly work of parts.

PRESSURE BULKHEAD ASSEMBLY METHODS AND SYSTEMS

A method for making a pressure bulkhead assembly of an aircraft includes determining first locations and first orientations of a plurality of first holes, pre-drilled in an aft pressure bulkhead. The method also includes determining a first surface profile of a first interface surface of the aft pressure bulkhead and determining a second surface profile of a second interface surface of each one of a plurality of splice angles. The method also includes determining second locations and second orientations of a plurality of second holes to be drilled in each one of the plurality of splice angles corresponding to the plurality of first holes in the aft pressure bulkhead and drilling the plurality of second holes in each one of the plurality of splice angles at the second locations and second orientations.

Component machining apparatus

A component machining apparatus includes a measurement result acquiring unit and a machining data generator. The measurement result acquiring unit is configured to acquire a measurement result obtained by a measurer configured to measure a three-dimensional shape of a manufactured component among components of a structure. The manufactured component is manufactured earlier than a component of interest. The machining data generator is configured to generate machining data of the component of interest based on the measurement result of the manufactured component that has been acquired by the measurement result acquiring unit.

Systems and methods for determining fasteners

Systems and methods are used to determine a defined fastener for fastening two parts together at an assembly fastener location. The defined fastener comprises fastener components selected from a plurality of different fastener components available for use in an assembled fastener. The fastener components of the defined fastener may be selected based on criteria defining characteristics of an assembly stackup including the two parts and the assembled defined fastener. Dimensions of the two parts at respective fastener locations forming the assembly fastener location may be used to determine a part stackup dimension for the assembled fastener at the assembly fastener location.

An initial customized electronic work scope is created for an individual industrial asset. The initial electronic work scope is created according to the set of rules defined in the tree-like data structure and uses the determined condition of the asset. The initial customized electronic work scope is not necessarily the same as other work scopes of other industrial assets the same asset type. The initial customized electronic work scope defines an ordered sequence for removing a plurality of individual mechanical parts of the individual asset.

This invention provides a system and method for guiding the workpieces to optimal positions to train an assembly system that is generally free of the use of a CMM or similar metrology device. The system and method expresses the image features of the workpieces, when they are in their respective stations, in a common coordinate system. This ability allows a user to visualize the result of assembling the workpieces without actually assembling them, in a virtual assembly. The virtual assembly assists guiding placement of workpieces in respective stations into a desired relative alignment. The system and method illustratively generates a composite image using the images from cameras used in guiding the workpieces that helps the user visualize how the part would appear following assembly. The user can reposition the images of workpieces in their respective stations until the composite image has a desired appearance.

METHOD AND ASSEMBLY SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED MACHINE BASED PRODUCT ASSEMBLING

It is proposed to assemble a product on a modular basis from product parts to be assembled, wherein the product assembling being split into two separate operations, by (i) automated machine fetching as well as automated machine placing the product parts part-by-part from a delivery area on optically localized distribution fixtures at a hand-over area in the course of a logistic distribution operation and a distribution fixture placed product part from optically localized distribution fixtures at the hand-over area on optically localized assembly fixtures at an assembly workspace in the course of an assembly operation, (ii) computing and executing by automated machine motion generation primary kinematic machine-motion-sequences and secondary kinematic machine-motion-sequences, (iii) providing an automated machine architecture to enable or ensure, based on a world model for automated machines, a three-dimensional model of an assembly environment, information ANG, of the product and the product parts and an automated machine workflow.
