HIGH AVAILABILITY FOR DYNAMIC ASSET MODEL INFORMATION VIEWS

A method is provided for managing availability of runtime asset data used by client applications hosted on workstations of an industrial system, the method including distributing runtime asset data about assets of the industrial system received at the plurality of workstations among runtime asset data caches associated with the client applications. At least a portion of locally stored runtime asset data stored on a local runtime asset data cache is replicated and stored remotely on the runtime asset data cache associated with another client application. The locally stored runtime asset data is periodically evaluated to determine if it is up-to-date, and in response to determining it is not up-to-date, the locally stored runtime asset data is updated by requesting and retrieving a replicated and updated version of the locally stored runtime asset data from the runtime asset data cache remotely storing the replicated version.

An industrial monitoring system is disclosed. In an embodiment it includes a device layer, a device driving layer, a data sharing layer, a data routing layer, a data scheduling layer, a service layer, and a presentation layer. The data sharing layer, the data routing layer, and the data scheduling layer are organized by using a non-relational database, or organized in a hybrid way by using the non-relational database and a relational database. The industrial monitoring system disclosed can implement processing such as real-time storage and sharing of a large amount of data, and data mining and retrieval.

Peer-to-peer exchange of data resources in a control system

System(s) and method(s) are provided for peer-to-peer exchange of data in a control system. Decentralized storage and multi-access paths provide complete sets of data without dependence on a specific or pre-defined data source or access paths. Data is characterized as data resources with disparate granularity. The control system includes a plurality of layers that act as logic units communicatively coupled through access network(s). Server(s) resides in a service layer, whereas client(s) associated with respective visualization terminal(s) are part of a visualization layer. Peer-to-peer distribution of data resource(s) can be based on available access network(s) resources and optimization of response time(s) in the control system. When client requests a data resource, all the locations of the data resource and the quickest source to retrieve it are automatically determined. The client stores copy of data resource. Peer-to-peer distribution of data resource(s) can be implemented within the service layer or the visualization layer.
