A spare robot controller for replacing any one of a plurality of initial robot controllers configured to control operation of respective industrial robots includes a key storage storing a plurality of shared keys and a secure storage. The spare robot controller is configured to decrypt, using one of the shared keys, an encrypted backup copy of the initial robot controller to be replaced, and to store resulting data in the secure storage. In embodiments, the is configured to extract data from the secure storage during operation and to encrypt the extracted data, using a selected one of the shared keys, for storage as a backup copy in a backup storage available to all of the initial robot controllers.

The server includes a first processor configured to: transmit a backup file creation request (signal) that sets data specific to each controller as a backup file and transmit a backup file acquisition request (signal) requesting acquisition of the created backup file; and receive the created backup file. The controller includes a second processor configured to: receive a request (signal) from the server; and create the backup file when receiving the backup file creation request (signal).

A robot management system includes a control device including a robot control section configured to control a robot, a program storing section configured to store a program for controlling the robot, and a backup generating section configured to generate backup data of the program and a managing device coupled to the control device and configured to manage the control device. The managing device includes an acquiring section configured to acquire generation time when the backup generating section generates the backup data and a display control section configured to, when a difference between the generation time and present time is equal to or larger than a first predetermined value, cause a display section to display notification content.

A file management device is a file management device that is connected to a plurality of manufacturing machines or a plurality of robots through a communication network and includes: an input unit to which a user inputs a file deletion command including a file name of files to be deleted; and a file deletion unit that causes the plurality of manufacturing machines or the plurality of robots to delete the files to be deleted with the same file name stored in the plurality of manufacturing machines or the plurality of robots in response to the file deletion command input through the input unit.

A management apparatus acquires backup data from a plurality of devices, and stores the acquired backup data in a database in association with position information of the plurality of devices. The management apparatus restores the backup data included in the database, to the device that is present at a position corresponding to the position information associated with the backup data.
