System and device to automatically identify data tags within a data stream
A method including receiving a data packet over a network, the data packet having a size. The method also includes parsing the data packet into a header and a body. The method also includes identifying a protocol type from the header and the size. The method also includes identifying a signal characteristic of signal data in the body. The method also includes identifying a classification of a source sensor which generated the data packet based on the protocol type and the signal characteristic. The method also includes generating a metadata file based on the source sensor. The method also includes labeling the data packet with the metadata file to form a labeled data packet.

Condition monitoring of wireless networks in industrial plants
The present disclosure relates to condition monitoring of wireless networks in industrial plant, wherein a wireless network has two or more wired gateways and a plurality of access nodes connected wirelessly with at least one wired gateway. Here, each access node is associated with at least one field device of the industrial plant. The condition monitoring is performed with an industrial device connected with the two or more wired gateways. The condition monitoring comprises periodically receiving information associated with packet transfer, channel access, and connection links for each node of the plurality of access nodes and each wired gateway. One or more parameters are estimated based on the received information, to determine connectivity status of the field devices in the industrial plant. The connectivity status is rendered on a user interface of an industrial device.
Numerical controller monitoring removal of daisy chained devices
Provided is a numerical controller in which a plurality of devices is allowed to be connected to a serial bus by a daisy chain, acquiring, from each of the devices, a connection number on the daisy chain and a device ID as connection information, determining presence or absence of a problem by comparing the connection information with a connection setting parameter obtained by associating the connection number with a logic axis number of the numerical controller, storing the connection information acquired by the connection information acquisition unit when there is no problem in the determination, and identifying a removed device by comparing the connection information acquired by the connection information acquisition unit with the connection information stored in the connection information storage unit when there is a problem in the determination, and excluding the removed device from the connection setting parameter, thereby creating connection setting data.
Computer system and method for evaluating health of nodes in a manufacturing network
A computing system may be configured to obtain operating data for a manufacturing network that comprises a plurality of edge nodes, a plurality of intermediate nodes, and a root node. Based on the operating data, the computing system may determine a respective critical state indicator for each node in at least a given segment of the manufacturing network. Based on the respective critical state indicator for each node in the given segment, the computing system may recursively determine a respective health score for each node in the given segment of the manufacturing network. Based on the respective health score for each node in the given segment of the manufacturing network, the computing system may identify one or more nodes in the given segment that are anomalous and cause a client station to present a report of the one or more nodes that are identified to be anomalous.
Method and system for data aggregation in an industrial communication protocol
A method and system for interacting with data frames passing through a module connected to an industrial network is disclosed. Each module includes an aggregation unit located on the network interface above the physical layer. To transmit data, the aggregation unit reads a header from a dynamic data packet to determine if the module is a participant module for the packet. If so, the aggregation unit inserts data from the module into the data packet and transmits the packet to another module. To receive data, the aggregation unit reads a header from the data packet to determine whether the data packet includes data for the module. If so, the aggregation unit reads the data and passes the data packet to another module. If the aggregation unit determines that a data packet is not intended for the module, the data packet is passed to another module with no further interaction.
