A method and device for determining an optimum manufacturing variant for manufacturing a product from currently available manufacturing alternatives of one or more manufacturing plants, and for creating the associated manufacturing documents based on the following steps: creating a product-specific, manufacturing plant-independent CAD manufacturing specification of the product to be manufactured; determining different possible manufacturing alternatives for manufacturing the product based on the created product-specific, manufacturing plant independent CAD-manufacturing specification and the available manufacturing machines; generating a specific CAD-model for each determined manufacturing alternative, wherein a feedback report is created by an associated CAM-engine for each generated specific CAD-model; evaluating the created feedback reports of the different manufacturing alternatives in order to determine the manufacturing alternatives that are suitable for manufacturing the product and to evaluate whether each manufacturing alternative complies with predefined manufacturing tolerances and manufacturing specifications; and selecting the optimum manufacturing alternative.

Said workpiece machining surface display method contains: a first step in which the shape and position of an indentation generated by the cutting edge shaving the workpiece machining surface are predicted; and a second step in which an indentation image representing the shape of the indentation that has been predicted in the first step is displayed in association with the predicted position.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC DATA EXTRACTION AND LABELLING FOR SUPERVISED MACHINE LEARNING TO AUTOMATE CNC MANUFACTURING
A method and system for automating CNC manufacturing is provided, comprising: receiving, at a server over a network, metadata from a plurality of CNC machines, the metadata from each CNC machine being automatically generated by a CNC control of the CNC machine as a result of an operator loading a CAD file of a first part to be formed by the CNC machine into CAM software of the CNC control and using the CAM software to define manufacturing process parameters and tool path parameters for forming the first part; training, by the server, a supervised machine learning model using the metadata as labeled training data to produce a trained model; and transmitting, by the server to at least one CNC machine of the plurality of CNC machines, model generated manufacturing process parameters and tool path parameters generated by the trained model for forming a second part.
