Method and control system for controlling a real production process
A method of controlling a real production process, wherein the method includes: a) receiving initial condition data from an on-line simulator system simulating the real production process, and b) performing an optimization based on the initial condition data and on an objective function to obtain set points for controlling the real production process.
LEVERAGING OUT-OF-BAND COMMUNICATION CHANNELS BETWEEN PROCESS AUTOMATION NODES
Implementations are described herein for leveraging an “out-of-band” communication channel between nodes of a process automation system. In various implementations, an out-of-band communication channel may be established between two or more process automation nodes of a process automation system. The out-of-band communication channel may be outside of a process automation network through which the two or more process automation nodes are communicatively coupled with other process automation nodes of the process automation system. The two or more process automation nodes may cooperate with one or more of the other process automation nodes to implement an at least partially automated process. One or more characteristics of the process automation system may be monitored, and based on the monitoring, traffic may be selectively diverted from the process automation network to the out-of-band communication channel.
Recording medium for verifying correlation between test signal and test result signal, verification apparatus and verification method
Provided is a recording medium having a verification program recorded thereon, wherein the verification program is executed by computer and causes the computer to function as: a test information acquisition unit which acquires test information showing a test signal generated by a field device installed in a plant; a result information acquisition unit which acquires result information showing a test result signal output by a monitor device installed in the plant in response to the field device generating the test signal; and a verification unit which verifies, based on the test information and the result information, whether or not a relationship is established between the test signal and the test result signal, the relationship depending on a performed change of a signal that is generated by the field device and output from the monitor device before the signal is output from a monitor device.
Control System and Method for Representing Alarm-Driven Trend Progression Diagrams During Operator Control and Monitoring of a Technical Installation
A computer-implemented method for representing operator control information in the context of operator control and monitoring of a technical installation is proposed, which has at least one operator station server and one operator station client, wherein at least one measurement value of at least one technical object of the technical installation is received via the operator station server, a trend progression of the measurement value is generated in the event that an alarm, which relates to the measurement value, occurs in the operator station server, the trend progression from the operator station server is transferred to the operator station client, and the trend progression is visually presented to an operator of the technical installation in a trend progression diagram.
Process image within controllers enabling visibility and accessibility of real world objects
A system for using digital twins to interact with physical objects in an automation system includes a plurality of controller devices, a process image backbone, and a registry comprising a plurality of digital twins. Each respective controller device comprises a volatile computer-readable storage medium comprising a process image area. The process image backbone provides the controllers with uniform access to the process image area of each controller. Each digital twin in the registry corresponds to a physical device controllable via one of the controllers devices via a corresponding process image area.

SMART WIRELESS ADAPTER
Smart Wireless Adapters are provided herein for establishing communication between measurement devices and a measurement control and data acquisition system in an industrial system. In one aspect, a method of establishing communication between a Pneumatic or Analog measurement device and the measurement control and data acquisition system includes providing a Pneumatic or Analog measurement device and providing a Smart Wireless Adapter capable of electrically and mechanically coupling to the Pneumatic or Analog measurement device. The Pneumatic or Analog measurement device is configured to measure one or more parameters in the industrial system and provide a value or signal indicative of the measured parameters at an output of the Pneumatic or Analog measurement device. Additionally, the Smart Wireless Adapter is coupled to receive the value or signal from the Pneumatic or Analog measurement device and configured to wirelessly transmit data indicative of the value or signal to the measurement control and data acquisition system.
Systems and methods for cloud-based control and data acquisition with abstract state
Systems, computer readable media, and method concern assigning an abstraction representation to data associated with a system of the SCADA environment. The method also includes providing the abstraction representation to a control system associated with the system of the SCADA environment. The control system is implemented in a computer system. Further, the method includes receiving actual data from the system of the SCADA environment. Additionally, the method includes generating abstract data from the actual data using the abstraction representation. The method, also includes forwarding the abstract data to the control system.
