Control device and control method
A control device includes a first processor that acquires a synchronization signal that is generated every first period, and a second processor that generates a second period that is obtained by dividing the first period by n (n≥1), generates a control signal, using a timer, every third period that is obtained by dividing the second period by m (m≥2), where at least one of a plurality of control signals generated in the first period is a control signal that should be synchronous with the synchronization signal, and in a case where occurrence of an error between timings of the synchronization signal and the control signal that should be synchronous with the synchronization signal is detected, the second processor corrects the error by temporarily changing a width of the timer that is to be started at next and later times.
Employee task verification to video system
When monitoring a workspace to determine whether scheduled tasks or chores are completed according to a predetermined schedule, a video monitoring system monitors a region of interest (ROI) to identify employee-generated signals representing completion of a scheduled task. An employee makes a mark or gesture in the ROI monitored by the video monitoring system and the system analyzes pixels in each captured frame of the ROI to identify an employee signal, map the signal to a corresponding scheduled task, update the task as having been completed upon receipt of the employee signal, and alert a manager of the facility as to whether the task has been completed or not.

Multi-core processing machine tool control system
A machine tool control system may include a processing module and subsystem circuitry coupled to the processing module by a bus. The processing module may include memory circuitry and a multi-core processor. The multi-core processor may include a first set of processor cores assigned exclusively to perform real-time tasks for controlling motion relative to one or more axes by executing first instructions stored in the memory circuitry, a second set of processor cores assigned exclusively to perform non-real-time tasks by executing second instructions stored in the memory circuitry, and a timer circuit configured to generate a cycle signal at periodic intervals. The subsystem circuitry may be configured to obtain axis feedback data from one or more feedback encoders and axis control data from the first set of processor cores during each of the periodic intervals. The subsystem circuitry further may be configured to provide the obtained axis feedback data to the first set of processor cores and the axis control data to one or more axis drivers in response to the cycle signals generated by the timer circuit.
Machine tool having a rotary table
A machine tool includes a clamping mechanism for clamping/unclamping rotation of a rotary table. A load is measured when an unclamping command is output and then the rotary table is rotated after a set time set in the timer passes, and the set time of the timer is changed in response to a magnitude of the measured load. In this way, it is possible to prevent the clamping mechanism from being damaged due to a subsequent command given before unclamping ends, and extend a life span of a component.
