With these embodiments, the robot program may be adjusted at an online side without a need to return to an offline programming tool for updating the robot program.

A machine tool includes a workpiece spindle being rotatable about a rotation axis of the workpiece and configured to hold a workpiece such that the workpiece. A tool holding device is rotatable about a tool rotation axis and configured to hold a turning tool via which turning is performed on the workpiece. A movement mechanism is configured to move the tool holding device such that the turning tool rotates relatively to the workpiece toward an arbitrary direction perpendicular to the rotation axis of the workpiece. Control circuitry is configured to execute a machining program, to perform the turning, which includes an additional code which designates a target cutting direction of the arbitrary cutting direction, and to control the movement mechanism to move the turning tool in the target cutting direction with respect to the workpiece while the control circuitry executes the additional code.

Setting device and computer readable medium
An object is to more appropriately perform settings in the setting of the control of a machine tool. A setting device includes: a first reception unit which receives the specification of a first setting value for at least one or more parameters on the control of a machine tool; a second reception unit which receives the specification of a second setting value for the parameter after the reception of the first setting value; a third reception unit which receives the specification of a selection condition for determining which one of the first setting value and the second setting value is selected; and a selection unit which selects, based on the selection condition whose specification is received by the third reception unit, any one of the first setting value and the second setting value as a setting value that is applied to the parameter.

The invention relates to a robot user interface configured for presenting a control program to a programmer, the control program being displayable to the programmer via a program view of said user interface. The control program controls operations of a robot, wherein at least some parts of the control of said robot is defined via an 5 argument of one or more operation parameter. The user interface is further configured to present a part of said one or more operation parameters to an operator of said robot via an operator view of said user interface. The operator view is configured for displaying arguments of said one or more operation parameters, and the operator view is configured for allowing said operator to change said argument of said part of said 10 one or more operation parameters. Further the invention relates to a method of configuring the robot control program using the user interface.
