20230173672 · 2023-06-08 ·

A smart hand tool includes a tool body having a distal working end and an opposite handle end configured to be gripped by a user, at least one sensor coupled to the tool body, and a wireless transmitter in communication with the at least one sensor and configured to transmit information from the at least one sensor to a remote device. The at least one sensor is configured to measure one or more physical parameters when the hand tool is in use, such as movement of the tool body working end, rotation of the tool body working end, torque at the tool body working end, pressure at the tool body working end, and temperature at the tool body working end.

This invention relates to a robot programming method that is carried out at a first location (i.e., teaching station) and a second location (i.e., application station). The second location is different from the first location. At the first location, teach data is prepared to teach motions to a robot to drive an end effector through a series of desired path points along a desired path of motion with respect to the application station. The teach data comprises at least one of robot position data elements and at least one of robot motion pattern data elements. At the second location, teach data is communicated to the robot and the robot is programmed in accordance with the teach data to drive the end effector through the series of desired path points along the desired path of motion with respect to the application station. This invention also relates to a robot programming system. The robot programming method and system are useful, for example, in thermal spray coating applications.

A system for machining a workpiece, comprising a hand-held power tool having a drive motor, a tool holder, which can be driven by the drive motor, for a working tool for machining the workpiece, and a guide element with a guide surface for guiding the hand-held power tool on the workpiece, having a marker detection device for detecting coordinate data of at least one workpiece marker of the workpiece, wherein the hand-held power tool has guide means for guiding the working tool along the workpiece according to the coordinate data of the at least one workpiece marker. The marker detection device has an optical and/or mechanical reference which can be positioned on and/or directly next to the at least one workpiece marker. The marker detection device is designed for determining the coordinate data of the at least one workpiece marker relative to an at least two-dimensional coordinates system which is independent from the workpiece marker
and the guide means of the hand-held power tool are designed to guide the working tool relative to the at least two-dimensional coordinates system in a working area which is geometrically defined by working area data determined based on the coordinate data of the at least one workpiece marker.
