Evaluation of pressure-transient behavior of wells
A method for monitoring movement of a fluid interface in a composite reservoir includes receiving data related to a composite reservoir. The composite reservoir includes an uninvaded oil zone, a water-invaded transition zone, and an aquifer. A model is generated using the data. The model is updated in response to movement of a fluid interface between the water-invaded transition zone and the uninvaded oil zone in the composite reservoir is identified. The model is also updated in response to movement of water from the aquifer toward the wellbore is also identified, before the fluid interface reaches a wellbore formed in the composite reservoir. A remedial action is determined to take in the wellbore in response to the movement of the fluid interface, the movement of the water, or both.

A process of deburring a workpiece comprising installing a workpiece onto a machine table proximate a robot, the workpiece having a surface, the robot having at least one force sensor and a spindle load sensor associated with a spindle coupled to a cutting tool, the robot having at least one joint configured to be actuated by a joint actuator; the robot being coupled to a controller; generating joint encoder signals with the controller, the joint encoder signals configured to direct the joint actuator; sensing contact forces between the cutting tool of the robot and the surface of the workpiece; determining a deburring path of the cutting tool to deburr the workpiece; and controlling the robotic deburring process by use of the joint encoder signals, a physics based model of burr size and material removal, a nominal trajectory and an actual trajectory of the cutting tool center point position.

A failure diagnosis device applicable to a mechanical device provided with a motor as a source to drive a motion axis, and configured to acquire a moving position of the motion axis and a disturbance torque value applied to the motion axis every predetermined period, and to diagnose that a failure is occurring when the disturbance torque value is larger than a failure determination threshold, includes a disturbance torque selector configured to calculate a change from a reference value of each of the acquired disturbance torque values, and to accumulate the disturbance torque values except each disturbance torque value having the change from the reference value equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, and a failure diagnosis unit configured to diagnose a failure of the mechanical device by using the disturbance torque values accumulated by the disturbance torque selector.
