METHOD OF PLANNING WORKS FOR ROBOTS AND WORK PLANNING DEVICE

A method of planning works for robots includes creating a work plan for a plurality of robots, each having a work tool, sharing at at least one station a work to a plurality of work parts of the workpiece. The method includes the steps of calculating a distribution of the work parts to the robots, calculating, as a robot operation, a work order of the work parts and a moving path of the work tool for each of the robots based on the calculated work distribution, and calculating a disposed location of each of the robots with respect to the workpiece and a station where the robot is disposed so that an inter-robot interference does not occur during execution of the calculated robot operation.

Machining station, workpiece holding system, and method of machining a workpiece

The machining station can include a table; at least three robots each having a multi-axis mover secured to the table, and a gripper opposite the table, the robots being interspaced from one another on the table; and a controller. The controller controls the robots to hold a workpiece in a coordinated manner. The computer numerical command (CNC) machine-tool system machines the workpiece while the workpiece is held by the robots. The workpiece can be moved into and out from the machining station with a trolley which slidingly engages a trolley path formed within the table.

Methods and apparatus to train interdependent autonomous machines

Methods and apparatus to train interdependent autonomous machines are disclosed. An example method includes performing an action of a first sub-task of a collaborative task with a first collaborative robot in a robotic cell while a second collaborative robot operates in the robotic cell according to a first recorded action of the second collaborative robot, the first recorded action of the second collaborative robot recorded while a second robot controller associated with the second collaborative robot is trained to control the second collaborative robot to perform a second sub-task of the collaborative task, and training a first robot controller associated with the first collaborative robot based at least on a sensing of an interaction of the first collaborative robot with the second collaborative robot while the action of the first sub-task is performed by the first collaborative robot and the second collaborative robot operates according to the first recorded action.

A robot including a movable portion, a controller, and a storage unit that stores maintenance timing information regarding at least one of the movable portion and the controller. The controller performs predetermined notification processing based on a comparison between elapsed time information and the maintenance timing information. The movable portion and the control apparatus are placed in a predetermined work site on which a second robot is installed. The controller corrects the maintenance timing information or the elapsed time information using information received from the second robot.

A machine tool system includes: a machine tool that machines a workpiece by using a tool attached to a spindle; and a plurality of robots installed inside a machining space of the machine tool and adapted to grip the workpiece and move the workpiece in conformity with the machining performed by the machine tool.

Composite structure repair system and method

A method and system for drilling holes in a repaired composite structure. Four corner holes are selected from holes outside of a repaired area in the repaired composite structure. The four corner holes define a rectangle encompassing the repaired area with sides that each include a pair of corner holes with intermediate holes in between. A surface representation is generated based on a scan of the repaired composite structure that includes the rectangle. Side hole locations between a corresponding pair of corner holes are generated for each side of the rectangle. Grid vector lines are generated between corresponding pairs of side hole locations on opposite sides of the rectangle. The grid vector lines intersect each other at intersection points on the surface representation. Point coordinates are determined for intersection points that lie within the repaired area. A path is created for drilling holes at point coordinates for the intersection points.
