A machining condition management system includes: a cutting tool that includes a cutting edge and a sensor; a storage that stores a mechanical machining condition and a measurement value; and a processor that performs revision of the mechanical machining condition based on the mechanical machining condition and the measurement value stored in the storage. The processor determines a load on the cutting tool based on the measurement value in a first cutting process under the mechanical machining condition, calculates a revised value for revising the mechanical machining condition for at least one machining interval that has fulfilled a prescribed condition in the determination for the first cutting process, and updates the mechanical machining condition in a second cutting process, based on the calculated revised value, and outputs the mechanical machining condition in the second cutting process.

WORKFLOW FOR EFFICIENT PARAMETERIZATION OF A NUMERICAL CONTROL

A computing facility transmits a command to a numerical control to briefly actuate a spindle drive, receives from the numerical control a drive torque applied to the spindle drive and data about a resulting acceleration of the spindle and determines therefrom a moment of inertia of the spindle and the spindle drive. The computing facility retrieves from the converter parameters describing the maximum possible operating limits of the converter and motor data of the drive motor, from which the maximum possible torque of the spindle drive can be determined as a function of the speed of the drive motor. The computing facility receives from an operator process data which include at least the process torque and determines required currents and torques and thermal losses in the spindle drive. The operator selects from the determined combinations, on the basis of which the limit values below a predetermined loss limit are determined.

A machine tool numerical controller receives a parts program which determines a path along which a workpiece should be machined in a material-removing manner by a machining tool. The numerical controller determines control commands by utilising the parts program and controls the position-controlled axes according to the determined control commands. The numerical controller determines the control commands such that the workpiece is machined in a material-removing manner by the machining tool along the path determined by the parts program. During the machining of the workpiece, the numerical controller receives, in real time, actual values characteristic of a machining force exerted on the machining tool and takes a geometrical measurement of the machining tool and the machining force into consideration in the determining of the control commands. During the machining process, the geometrical measurement is varied dynamically and in real time according to the machining force.
