A machine tool according to one embodiment comprises: relative movement mechanisms which move a table for supporting an object to be machined relatively to a support unit for supporting the first N unit and the second unit: a movement control unit which controls the relative movement mechanisms; a relative position detection unit which detects the position of the table relative to the support unit; and a distance calculation unit which calculates the distance between the first unit and the second unit on the basis of a relative position when the first unit and the table reach a first relative positional relationship and a relative position when the second unit and the table reach a second relative positional relationship.
POSITION CONTROLLER FOR CONTROLLING A ROTATION CENTER OF A TILTING HEAD
Disclosed is a position controller for a tilting head in a machining center. The position controller includes an offset attachment having a body combined to the tilting head and a spherical contact secured to the body, an offset detector built in the machining center such that the offset detector move out into a process area of the machining center and automatically detects a tool offset from a contact point with the spherical contact, a storing unit individually storing first and second tool offsets by respective rotation positions of the tilting head, and an operator generating a transform offset of the first tool offset by a rotational transform and a center error vector from the transform offset and the second tool offset. Accordingly, the center error of the tilting head is automatically detected and corrected in the machining center.
Optimizing machine operations using acoustics properties
A remote machining optimization system for a machine tool is provided, which includes an input unit configured to input a machining parameter including a spindle speed and a cut depth; a receiving unit configured to receive sound signals and vibration signals from the machine tool; a processing unit configured to generate a machining program with a program generating module, to modify the spindle speed and the cut depth according to the sound signals with a speed optimization module and a depth optimization module, respectively; a communication unit configured to send the machining program to the machine tool; and a storage unit configured to store the modified spindle speed and the cut depth.
Position controller for controlling a rotation center of a tilting head
Disclosed is a position controller for a tilting head in a machining center. The position controller includes an offset attachment having a body combined to the tilting head and a spherical contact secured to the body, an offset detector built in the machining center such that the offset detector move out into a process area of the machining center and automatically detects a tool offset from a contact point with the spherical contact, a storing unit individually storing first and second tool offsets by respective rotation positions of the tilting head, and an operator generating a transform offset of the first tool offset by a rotational transform and a center error vector from the transform offset and the second tool offset. Accordingly, the center error of the tilting head is automatically detected and corrected in the machining center.
REMOTE MACHINING OPTIMIZATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A remote machining optimization system for a machine tool is provided, which includes an input unit configured to input a machining parameter including a spindle speed and a cut depth; a receiving unit configured to receive sound signals and vibration signals from the machine tool; a processing unit configured to generate a machining program with a program generating module, to modify the spindle speed and the cut depth according to the sound signals with a speed optimization module and a depth optimization module, respectively; a communication unit configured to send the machining program to the machine tool; and a storage unit configured to store the modified spindle speed and the cut depth.

A computing device computes a position of a tool that cuts a ridge line formed by a peripheral wall face and a cylinder peripheral face forming a through hole, having the shape of a column, penetrating through a workpiece. The computing device calculates the position on the basis of: a first basis vector and a second basis vector on a plane perpendicular to a tangent to the ridge line; workpiece data; an ellipse formed by the plane and the column; a predetermined processing width; and a radius of the tool.
