The machine safety device includes a wireless communication interface. The system also includes a mobile device controller configured to control operation of the machine, and a safety stop device. The safety stop device includes a wireless communication interface for wireless communication with the machine safety device, and an emergency stop switch configured to, when activated, transmit an emergency stop signal to the machine safety device to trigger an emergency stop of the machine. The mobile device controller is configured to link with the safety stop device via short-range wireless communication.

Soft breaker circuit

In some examples, an electrical power system includes a power source and a load modulator configured to receive power from the power source and to deliver power to a load zone. The electrical power system also includes a controller configured to determine a software-controlled power flow limit for the load zone. The controller is further configured to receive information indicating the power delivered to the load zone and to cause the power delivered to the load zone to remain below the software-controlled power flow limit.

CLUTTER FILTER CONFIGURATION FOR SAFETY LASER SCANNER
20180011175 · 2018-01-11 ·

A clutter filter configuration tool for a safety laser scanner. The clutter filter configuration tool may first operate the safety laser scanner in an environment to learn the environmental clutter level and present the same to a user. Subsequent to this “teach-in” phase, the configuration tool may provide a clutter filter selection process which presents the environmental clutter level to the user and allows the user to select a suitable configuration for a clutter filter. The configuration tool may also provide a clutter filter simulation process wherein the clutter filter chosen by the user is verified and a test is performed using the selected clutter filter. The results may be reported on a visualized graph. The configuration tool may also determine a real area to be monitored utilizing a floor projection area and an orientation of the laser scanner.

MONITORING ACTUATOR SYSTEM HEALTH

An overall efficiency of an actuator system can be monitored to determine the health of the actuator system. A ratio between the output power of the actuator system and the input power of the actuator system is monitored over time. Degradation of the efficiency of the actuator system may be observed and corrective action taken before failure of the actuator system.

SAFETY SIGNAL OUTPUT DEVICE, ATTACHMENT MEMBER, SAFETY SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR DISABLING MONITORING

A safety signal output device has a connector that can electrically connect a second device different from a first device. The connector includes first through fourth terminals. The safety signal output device outputs electrical signals with different timings to the first terminal and the third terminal. The safety signal output device outputs a safety signal during a state in which electrical signals that correspond in timing to the output timing of the electrical signals to the first terminal are input to the safety signal output device from the fourth terminal, and electrical signals that correspond in timing to the output timing of the electrical signals to the third terminal are input to the safety signal output device from the second terminal, the safety signal output device outputs the safety signal.

A control device includes first and second control modules. The first control module is configured to generate process data at t.sub.1, send the process data to the second control module via a communication channel, receive a response to the process data, and process the process data at t.sub.4. The second control module is configured to receive the process data from the first control module, process the process data at t.sub.2, generate the response at t.sub.3, and send the response to the first control module. The times t.sub.1, t.sub.2, t.sub.3, and t.sub.4 are in chronological order. In various implementations, the first and second control modules jointly guarantee a minimum duration Δ1 between t.sub.1 and t.sub.2. In various implementations, the second control module guarantees a minimum duration Δ2 between t.sub.2 and t.sub.3. In various implementations, the first and second control modules jointly guarantee a minimum duration Δ3 between t.sub.3 and t.sub.4.
