TEMPERATURE REGULATING APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A temperature regulating apparatus can comprise a housing, an intake fan, an outlet fan, and one or more canisters containing a pressurized cooling gas, such as carbon dioxide, freon, nitrogen, difluoroethane, trifluoroethane, or tetrafluoroethane, positioned within the housing. The inlet fan draws warm air from outside of the housing into the housing through vent openings formed in the housing. Cooling gas is released from the cannisters when a temperature sensing device detects the ambient temperature is above a predetermined desired temperature, and the outlet fan blows cooled air out of the housing through the vent openings, whereby the ambient temperature outside of the housing can be cooled to the predetermined desired temperature.
Temperature Control Method, System and Temperature Controller
Embodiments of the application disclose a temperature control method, system and a temperature controller. The method includes: obtaining a target temperature value set by a user; obtaining a current energy-saving level, the current energy-saving level being used to limit an adjustment speed at which a HVAC system controls a temperature change; determining a target difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures based on a current indoor temperature value and a current outdoor temperature value; determining a target adjustment speed corresponding to the target difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures; determining a target operating mode based on a relationship between the current energy-saving level and the target adjustment speed; and controlling the HVAC system to perform a temperature adjustment operation in the target operating mode. The method can improve the user's comfort experience and effectively reduce energy consumption.
SYSTEMS AND CONTROLLERS FOR CONTROLLING HEATING UNIT TEMPERATURE WITH A SIMULATED OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE, AND METHODS USING THE SAME
Systems and methods for controlling a heating Technologies for controlling a heating unit are disclosed. In embodiments, the systems and methods determine a heating unit target temperature based at least in part on a duty cycle of at least one thermostat. The systems and methods may then determine a simulated outdoor temperature corresponding to the heating unit target temperature, and a resistance value corresponding to the simulated outdoor temperature. The systems and methods may then cause a resistance signal including or indicative of the resistance value to be provided to an outdoor temperature input for the heating unit, e.g., to cause the heating unit to modulate to the heating unit target temperature.
Determining Rotation Using Sensor Displaced from Magnet
A device may be configured to control a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system within a building. The device includes a rotatable dial comprising a first gear; a second gear configured to engage with the first gear, wherein a rotation of the first gear causes the second gear to rotate; a magnet placed on the second gear, wherein the magnet rotates with the second gear; a sensor configured to generate an electrical signal which indicates a rotational position of the magnet, wherein the rotational position of the magnet indicates the rotational position of the second gear; and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to receive, from the sensor, the electrical signal which indicates the rotational position of the second gear; and change a temperature set point based on a change in the rotational position of the second gear.
Devices and methods for interacting with an HVAC controller
An HVAC controller controlled in response to a natural language audio message that is not recognizable by the HVAC controller as a command, where the natural language audio message is translated into a command recognizable by the HVAC controller. The HVAC controller may be a thermostat and may include a housing that at least partially houses a control module, a microphone, a speaker, a display, and a voice recognition module. The voice recognition module recognizes a predetermined audible trigger from a recorded voice message or streamed voice message, and in response, provide one or more audio clips via the speaker and/or video clips via the display to assist users in operating the thermostat. A user may communicate with the thermostat via the thermostat and/or a remote device.
Tamper proof thermostat that limits temperature controls
A thermostat includes: a controller adapted to control the function of an associated HVAC system; and user controls adapted to provide instructions to the controller including selecting between heating functions and cooling functions, wherein the controller is limited by a maximum temperature when heating functions are selected and limited by a minimum temperature when the cooling functions are selected, wherein the maximum temperature is a lower temperature than the minimum temperature.
Electronic device and method for performing temperature control
An electronic device and method of operating an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a temperature measurement unit configured to measure a temperature of each of multiple components of the electronic device, and a controller configured to change, based on a first reference temperature, an operating frequency of the controller to a first operating frequency when a temperature of the controller, measured by the temperature measurement unit, reaches the first reference temperature and change, based on a third reference temperature that is lower than the first reference temperature, the operating frequency of the controller to a second operating frequency when a temperature of at least one component of the multiple components reaches a second reference temperature while the controller operates at the first operating frequency.
Sleep phase dependent temperature control and learning methods to optimize sleep quality
A bed includes components to control temperature of a sleep surface, for example based on time and historical usage patterns by a user. In some embodiments the temperature of the sleep surface is controlled based on information indicating a sleep state of the user. In some embodiments the temperature is dynamically adjusted so to achieve particular sleep states and/or sleep patterns for the user. In some embodiments the temperature and timing of temperature adjustments is iteratively adjusted over multiple sleep sessions so to achieve improvements in sleep states and/or sleep quality for the user.
