A light-emitting keyboard includes a bracket, at least one keycap, a circuit layer and a composite light-emitting layer. The at least one keycap is disposed on the bracket and connected to the bracket via a support assembly. The circuit layer is disposed between the keycap and the bracket. The composite light-emitting layer is disposed under the bracket, and includes a substrate, a conductive layer, a reflective layer and at least one light source. The conductive layer is disposed on the substrate and includes a circuit and patterned structures. The reflective layer is conformally disposed on the conductive layer. The at least one light source is located under the at least one keycap and electrically connected to the circuit, and light emitted from the light source is transmitted upwardly to the keycap.
Modular information handling system with automated housing cover removal
A portable information handling system modular hybrid architecture separates components between rotationally coupled housing portions to minimize cabling, connectors and materials, and to provide improved durability that supports recycling and reuse of the components. For example, a plurality of housing cover configurations couple to housing portions of different dimensions with opposing couples and a common keystone element that, when installed, prevents separation of the opposing couplers. Removal of the keystone element provides ready access to the housing portion interior to recycle processing components, such as a secondary board having an embedded controller and charger and a battery interfaced with the secondary board.

An information processing apparatus includes: a first chassis having a first surface provided with at least an air intake port; a second chassis which is connected to the first chassis in a relatively rotatable manner and has a second surface that overlaps the first surface of the first chassis by the rotation; a heat dissipation unit having a fan for replacing air in the first chassis with outside air through at least the air intake port; a state detection unit that detects whether a state is a first state in which the first surface and the second surface overlap; and a control unit which changes control of the fan according to whether the state is the first state.

The first mapping zones are located under the corresponding first keys. The second mapping zone is located under the second key. Moreover, at least one side-view light-emitting element and at least one top-view light-emitting element are installed on the circuit board. The side-view light-emitting element emits a first light beam. The top-view light-emitting element emits a second light beam. The first light beam is extracted through the corresponding first mapping zone and transferred to the corresponding first key. The second light beam is transferred to the second key.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING AND CHARACTERIZING INPUTS ON A TOUCH SENSOR SURFACE
One variation of a system for interfacing a computer system and a user includes: a touch sensor defining a touch sensor surface and extending over an array of sense electrode and drive electrode pairs; a vibrator coupled to the touch sensor surface; and a controller configured to: detect application of an input onto the touch sensor surface and a force magnitude of the first input at a first time; execute a down-click cycle in response to the force magnitude exceeding a threshold magnitude by driving the vibrator to oscillate the touch sensor surface; map a location of the input on the touch sensor surface to a key of a keyboard represented by the touch sensor surface; and output a touch image representing the key and the force magnitude of the input on the touch sensor surface at approximately the first time.
COVER FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A magnetic attachment mechanism and method is described. The magnetic attachment mechanism can be used to releasably attach at least two objects together in a preferred configuration without fasteners and without external intervention. The magnetic attachment mechanism can be used to releasably attach an accessory device to an electronic device. The accessory device can be used to augment the functionality of usefulness of the electronic device.

A key top including: a transparent substrate that includes a ceiling part, and a side wall part; a first layer having a chromatic color with transparency that is formed on a top face of the ceiling part and an outer wall of the side wall part or a bottom face of the ceiling part and an inner wall of the side wall part; and a second layer that is a whitish color, white, silver or gold, is formed on the first layer, and shields a light from a light source, a part of the second layer corresponding to a character part being removed; wherein a contrast ratio between colors of the first and the second layers at the time of non-lighting is 3:1 or more, and a luminance of the light passing through the character part at the time of lighting is 3 cd/cm.sup.2 or more.
