DETERMINING POWER STATE SUPPORT
According to some examples, systems and methods are provided for determining a set of power states supported by a data storage device and applying an operation to the data storage device based on whether the set of power states includes a low power state.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POWER RELAXATION ON STARTUP
A storage unit is disclosed. The storage unit may include an interface to a host and storage for a data. A receiver may receive from a host a boot power data. The boot power data may including a first power level and a duration. A circuit may boot the storage unit based at least in part on the boot power data. The storage unit may include a second power level, with the first power level greater than the second power level.
Data storage device and method for low-latency power state transitions by having power islanding in a host memory buffer
A data storage device and method for low-latency power state transitions by having power islanding in a host memory buffer are provided. In one embodiment, a data storage device is provided comprising a volatile memory, a non-volatile memory, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive information from a host about which area, if any, in a host memory buffer will be powered on during a low-power state; and in response to the information indicating that a first area of the host memory buffer will be powered on during the low-power state, flush data from a second area of the host memory buffer that will not be powered on during the low-power state to the first area of the host memory buffer prior to entering the low-power state. Other embodiments are provided.
Shaped and optimized power cycles
Systems and methods, according to the present disclosure, determines a duration of the current queue of commands in the controller, executes all full commands capable of being executed prior to the beginning of a low power cycle. Commands that are not executed may be re-fetched when the device enters a power mode. In an alternate embodiment, a portion of a command that is executable prior to the beginning of a low power cycle is executed, with the un-executed portion of the command being stored on the device, in an “always on” or AON memory. This un-executed portion is fetched and executed when the device enters the power mode.
Data Management For Efficient Low Power Mode Handling In A Storage Device
A method and apparatus for identifying data that is to be accessible in a low power state of a data storage device, and store this data in a physical (or logical) block that will be accessible in a low power state of the data storage device. Low power accessible data may be identified by host metadata of the data, indicating access is needed in a low power state. In other embodiments, the data storage device may learn the power state in which data should be accessible. In these embodiments, a controller stores information regarding the power state of a namespace in which the data is stored as an indicator to make the data accessible in a low power state. Alternatively, the controller stores a previous power state in which the data was accessed as an indicator to make the data accessible in a low power state.

Node Interconnection Apparatus, Resource Control Node, and Server System
A node interconnection apparatus includes a computing node, a resource control node, and a device interconnection interface connecting the computing node and the resource control node. Each of the computing node and the resource control node includes a processing unit and a storage unit, and the resource control node further includes a resource interface for connecting with a network storage device. The resource control node manages a storage resource of the network storage device, and when the computing node needs to start up, the resource control node obtains operating system startup information from the network storage device and provides the operating system startup information to the computing node. The computing node can start up without the need for storing startup information locally.

Method and apparatus for performing power analytics of a storage system
A storage system comprises one or more storage devices, power supplies supplying power to the storage device, a processor that performs in response to determining that the total power consumption of the one or more storage devices is less than a first percentage threshold of a load of the active power supplies, deactivating one or more of the active power supplies until the total power consumption is equal to or greater than the first percentage threshold of a load of each of the active power supplies, and in response to determining that the total power consumption is equal to or greater than a second percentage threshold of a load of each of the active power supplies, activating one or more of the deactivated ones of the power supplies until the total power consumption is less than the second percentage threshold of the load of each of the active power supplies.
METHOD OF POWER MANAGEMENT
A method of power management includes steps of: in response to receiving from a server host a sleep command, an expander first outputting a predetermined register value to a processing unit in a normal state, and then switching to a power-saving state and outputting an interrupt signal to the processing unit; the processing unit determining whether both the predetermined register value and the interrupt signal are received; and when it is determined that both the predetermined register value and the interrupt signal have been received, the processing unit controlling a power supply to output standby electricity, making the expander and the processing unit operate based on the standby electricity.
