Distribution of data packets with non-linear delay
A computer system receives a data stream with a plurality of packets. In response to receiving the data stream with the plurality of packets, the computer system distributes individual packets of the plurality of packets to the inputs of each of a plurality of processing nodes. Each respective processing node has a local queue storing a respective number of packets to be processed by the respective processing node. Distributing a respective packet of the plurality of packets to the inputs of each of the plurality of processing nodes includes delaying sending the respective packet to each of the plurality of processing nodes by a delay time that is a non-linear function of an average number of packets in the local queues of the respective processing nodes.
Method and apparatus for stress management in a searchable data service
Method and apparatus for stress management in a searchable data service. The searchable data service may provide a searchable index to a backend data store, and an interface to build and query the searchable index, that enables client applications to search for and retrieve locators for stored entities in the backend data store. Embodiments of the searchable data service may implement a distributed stress management mechanism that may provide functionality including, but not limited to, the automated monitoring of critical resources, analysis of resource usage, and decisions on and performance of actions to keep resource usage within comfort zones. In one embodiment, in response to usage of a particular resource being detected as out of the comfort zone on a node, an action may be performed to transfer at least part of the resource usage for the local resource to another node that provides a similar resource.
Techniques for unifying ETL filter operators
Techniques are provided for unifying filter operators in exchange, transform, load (ETL) plans. Such a technique includes a method that may include receiving, by a computer system, an ETL plan including a split operator and a plurality of filter operators. The may include identifying, by the computer system, that the plurality of filter operators are configured to act on data output by the split operator in the ETL plan. The method may include generating, by the computer system, a unified filter operator using the plurality of filter operators. The method may include generating, by the computer system, an updated ETL plan comprising the unified filter operator providing filtered data to the split operator. The method may also include storing the updated ETL plan in a data store.
Systems and methods for spilling data for hash joins
Systems and methods for spilling data for hash joins are described. An example method includes determining an amount of available space in a first memory used by a set of relational queries is insufficient for a first relational join query. The first relational join query comprises a join operation. The method also includes determining a set of build memory sizes and a set of probe memory sizes for a set of partitions for the set of relational queries. The method further includes identifying a first partition of the set of partitions based on the set of probe memory sizes and the set of build memory sizes. The method further includes copying the first partition from the first memory to a second memory, wherein the first partition comprises a first build portion and a first probe portion.
Assigning processing tasks in a data intake and query system
Systems and methods are described for assigning a processing task from one component of a data intake and query system to a different component of the data intake and query system. As part of processing a query, the system can determine that a particular processing task is to be executed by a particular component of the data intake and query system. Based on the characteristics of the component that is to execute the processing task, the system can assign the task or a supplemental task to one or more other components of the data intake and query system.
Multi-tenant system for providing arbitrary query support
A method comprising receiving by an arbitrary query engine a user request to perform a query associated with user data including first data and second data; partitioning the query into first and second sub-queries; providing the first sub-query to a first service provider interface (SPI) integrated into a first service configured to operate on the first data in a first datastore, the first SPI including a common interface component configured based on a uniform access specification to facilitate external communication between the arbitrary query engine and the first SPI, and the first SPI including a first service interface component configured to transform between the uniform access specification and a first service data specification and to facilitate internal data management; obtaining from the first datastore the first data formatted according to the first service data specification; transforming the first data; and providing the transformed first data to the arbitrary query engine.
Micro-partitioning based search
Devices and techniques are generally described for search using a micro-partitioned catalog. In some examples, a search system can determine a plurality of items in an online catalog. The search system can generate a similarity graph based on vector representations of the plurality of items and determine an item as a representative item for a cluster of items. The search system can receive a query and determine the cluster of items as a candidate cluster based on a comparison between the query and the representative item. The search system can determine a candidate item of the cluster of items based on a comparison between the query and the cluster of items.
Object Information Derived from Object Images
An object is recognized from image data as a target object and linked to a user based on an interaction by the user, information about the target object is obtained and a purchase of the target object is initiated.
DATA QUERY METHOD AND APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a data query method and apparatus, which implement a technical effect that data meeting a precision requirement is queried according to a user's requirement of for data precision. The method includes: receiving a query instruction that includes a query condition and query precision; determining a data partition that meets the query condition; determining a data sub-partition corresponding to the query precision from the data partition; and querying data in the data sub-partition to obtain a query result.
ITERATIVE AND HIERARCHICAL PROCESSING OF REQUEST PARTITIONS
Methods and systems disclosed herein relate generally to temporally prioritizing queries of queue-task partitions based on distributions of flags assigned to bits corresponding to access rights.
