APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING CONTENTS OF A COMPUTER-GENERATED IMAGE USING THREE DIMENSIONAL MEASUREMENTS
A method for controlling movement of a computer display cursor based on a point-of-aim of a pointing device within an interaction region includes projecting an image of a computer display to create the interaction region. At least one calibration point having a predetermined relation to said interaction region is established. A pointing line is directed to substantially pass through the calibration point while measuring a position of and an orientation of the pointing device. The pointing line has a predetermined relationship to said pointing device. Movement of the cursor is controlled within the interaction region using measurements of the position of and the orientation of the pointing device.
ROLL TURNING AND TAP TURNING FOR VIRTUAL REALITY ENVIRONMENTS
Technologies are described for providing turning in virtual reality environments. For example, some implementations use roll turning that involves rotating around an outer edge of a control input, some implementations use tap turning to move directly to a location indicated by a control movement, and some implementations involve combinations of roll turning and tap turning.
SURGICAL SYSTEM
A surgical system including a surgical instrument having a shaft, an image sensor positioned at a distal end of the shaft, the image sensor being configured to capture images of a target object of a living object, and a control grip is arranged at a proximal end of the shaft. The surgical system further including a monitor for displaying the images and a controller configured to display a virtual target object model image of the target object on the monitor. Where the control grip is configured to position the virtual target object model image displayed on the monitor at a determined position and rotate the virtual target object model image displayed on the monitor at the determined position.
Virtual Reality Vehicle Operation Simulation
An interactive vehicle simulation system having a virtual reality engine that generates a virtual operating environment that includes a user operated vehicle having a plurality of wheel types, a vehicle position, vehicle orientation, vehicle velocity and vehicle acceleration.
Computer input device
A computer input device includes a housing having an opening, a ball holder supported relative to the housing and being concentric with the opening, a ball positioned within the ball holder and extending through the opening in the housing, and a scroll ring concentric with and rotatable relative to the ball holder. The ball is movable relative to the ball holder. The ball holder has a track, and the scroll ring has at least one projection received in the track of the ball holder to guide the scroll ring.
TRACKBALL APPARATUS, MEDICAL INPUT APPARATUS, AND ULTRASONIC IMAGING APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present application provide a trackball apparatus, a medical input apparatus, and an ultrasonic imaging apparatus. The trackball apparatus includes a cover plate, a housing and a ball. The cover plate has a first surface and a second surface, where an opening portion passing through the first surface and the second surface is provided at the center of the cover plate, and one or more engaging portions are provided on the second surface. The housing has an accommodating portion, where when the cover plate is mounted on the housing, the one or more engaging portions are located on an outer side of the housing. The ball is accommodated in the accommodating portion in a freely rotatable state, where a part of the ball is exposed from the opening portion. In this way, the trackball apparatus can be easily mounted and detached, thereby facilitating maintenance and product replacement.
Computer input device
A computer input device including a housing including a first side and a second side that is spaced apart from the first side, and a ball partially positioned within and rotatable relative to the housing. At least a portion of the ball extends through an aperture in the first side. The computer input device also includes a user-operable actuator accessible from the second side of the housing and configured to eject the ball from the housing.

The ball is movable relative to the ball holder. The ball holder has a track, and the scroll ring has at least one projection received in the track of the ball holder to guide the scroll ring.
Input device
The present invention relates to an input device. The input device includes a circuit board, a wheel, a supporting frame, a push button switch and a tilt switch. The wheel has a rotary shaft. The supporting frame includes a body, an extension arm, a first and a second supporting portion. The wheel is pivotally connected to the body by the rotary shaft. The extension arm is disposed at the side edge of the body. The first and second supporting portion are connected to the body, where the second supporting portion is disposed between the rotary shaft and the first supporting portion. The push button switch is corresponding to the body. When the wheel is pressed, the body is driven to trigger the push button switch. The tilt switch is corresponding to the extension arm. When the wheel tilts, the extension arm is driven to trigger the tilt switch.
