Knob on display (KoD) devices and related systems, methods, and devices are disclosed. A KoD device includes a touch surface including a conductive material. The touch surface is configured to be positioned in a released position and in a depressed position. The touch surface is configured to be positioned in the depressed position responsive to pressure applied to the touch surface. The KoD device also includes a push electrode pad configured to be positioned in engagement proximity to a touch sensor of a touch screen device in both the released position and the depressed position. The push electrode pad is electrically connected to the conductive material of the touch surface responsive to the depressed position and electrically isolated from the conductive material of the touch surface in the released position.
System and method for generating sound effects on fingertips with piezoelectric actuators of a haptic keyboard
A haptic keyboard of an information handling system may comprise a coversheet to identify a key location, a support layer, a contact foil placed between the coversheet and support layer, and a controller operatively coupled to the contact foil. The controller may receive a haptic actuation indicator signal via a processor or via the contact foil, send a first haptic feedback control signal to a first piezoelectric element to cause the first piezoelectric element to generate haptic tactile movement feedback at the key location, and send a second haptic feedback control signal to the first or a second piezoelectric element to cause the second piezoelectric element to generate haptic sound feedback in response to the haptic actuation indicator signal.
SENSOR MODULE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A sensor module includes a sensor that includes a first sensor layer of a capacitance type including a plurality of first detection units arranged two-dimensionally and a second sensor layer of a capacitance type including a plurality of second detection units arranged two-dimensionally, the first sensor layer being provided on the second sensor layer, and a control unit that scans the plurality of first detection units and the plurality of second detection units.
Device, method, and user interface for processing intensity of touch contacts
An electronic device, in response to detecting a touch input on a touch-sensitive surface, determines an intensity of the touch input. In accordance with the intensity of the touch input on the touch-sensitive surface and one or more preselected intensity thresholds, the device determines an intensity stage of the touch input and one or more intensity-based progress values of the touch input, based on an intensity range associated with the determined intensity stage. The device sends touch information to a first software application stored by the electronic device, including the one or more intensity-based progress values of the touch input and information identifying the intensity stage of the touch input, and processes the touch input based on the one or more intensity-based progress values of the touch input and the intensity stage of the touch input.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING EXECUTION SCREEN OF APPLICATION, OPERATING METHOD THEREOF, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An electronic device is disclosed and includes a display and at least one processor operatively connected with the display. The at least one processor is configured to, when an application is executed, display an execution window corresponding to the application on the display, display the execution window, as a first shape of execution window, on at least a portion of the display, in response to a background switch request for the application, identify a state of the application while displaying the first shape of execution window, and switch the first shape of execution window into a second shape of execution window according to the state of the application.
Input device and sound output system
An input device includes: a touch device configured to receive a user operation; an actuator configured to apply a vibration corresponding to a drive voltage to the touch device; and a processor. The processor is configured to: apply a first voltage to the actuator to vibrate the touch device with a first vibration in response to a touch-down during a touch operation, the touch-down in which a pressing force of a predetermined value or more is detected from start of touch to the touch device; and apply a second voltage lower than the first voltage to the actuator to vibrate the touch device with a second vibration in response to a touch release during the touch operation, the touch release in which a pressing force of a value lower than the predetermined value after the touch-down is detected.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INK DATA GENERATION, INK DATA RENDERING, INK DATA MANIPULATION AND INK DATA COMMUNICATION
A method implemented by a transmission device to communicate with multiple reception devices that respectively share a drawing area with the transmission device is provided. The transmission device transmits to the multiple reception devices vector-data ink data representative of traces of input operation detected by an input sensor of the transmission device. The method includes: (a) an ink data generation step of generating fragmented data of a stroke object, wherein the stroke object contains multiple point objects to represent a trace formed by a pointer, the fragmented data being generated per defined unit T, and generating a drawing style object; (b) a message formation step of generating messages including the drawing style object and the fragmented data; and (c) a transmission step of transmitting the messages.
HAPTIC DEVICE WITH INDIRECT HAPTIC FEEDBACK
A method of imitating a texture on a touch surface, the method including the steps of sensing a position of a user's finger on the touch surface, modulating a coefficient of friction of the touch surface in response to the sensed position of a user's appendage relative to the touch surface and/or a derivative thereof, where the friction modulator does not alter the contour of the touch surface in a manner that is perceptible to a user's sight or touch.
System for facilitating advanced coding to individuals with limited dexterity
A method and system for improving accessibility of advanced coding to individuals with limited dexterity using a personalized screen touch option as replacement of standard typing, to the user's functional mobility ability. The system and method involve a touchscreen coding platform and a personalized screen touch option corresponding to the user's functional mobility activity, which allows the user to write with their prefer code language at a professional level. All actions on the coding platform may be performed with finger taps allowing individuals with limited dexterity to perform complex coding.
