Ballistic ranging methods and systems for inclined shooting
A portable system for facilitating inclined shooting of projectile weapons comprises a ranging system, an inclinometer and a processor. The ranging system measures a line-of sight range distance from a vantage point to a target that is elevated or depressed relative to the vantage point, and the inclinometer measures an inclination angle of a line of sight between the vantage point and the target. Based on information from the rangefinder and inclinometer, the processor determines a predicted altitude-compensated inclined shooting (ACIS) trajectory at the line-of sight range distance for a preselected projectile. The ACIS trajectory is based on a bullet path height correction between a bullet path height at a first altitude and a bullet path height at a second altitude, a range distance of the target from the vantage point, and selected meteorological atmospheric information.
TARGET ACQUISITION DEVICE AND SYSTEM THEREOF
A target acquisition device and a system thereof called ArmConnect™ are disclosed. The target acquisition device of the present invention comprises an optical module, an image sensor, a compass, an acceleration sensor, an accessory connector, a display and a sight control circuit. The target acquisition system of the present invention comprises a target acquisition device, a range finder and a mobile device, wherein the target acquisition device further comprises a wireless transmission module for connecting to the mobile device. The range finder is connected to the target acquisition device by the accessory connector. Some assistant devices, such as a remote control, a weather station, a night vision, a recorder, a camera and etc., can also be connected to the target acquisition device for providing supports to make the ammunition hit the target.
Apparatus, system and method for archery sight tape selection
A system includes at least one processor; a memory configured to store for each of the plurality of sight tapes, a first distance separating two sight marks included on each of the plurality of sight tapes, respectively, the two sight marks including a first sight mark associated with a first known shot-distance and a second sight mark associated with a second known shot-distance; a sight setting module configured to determine sight settings for the selected archery equipment and determine a second distance separating a first sight setting associated with the first known shot-distance and a second sight setting associated with the second known shot-distance; and a comparison module configured to compare a value of the second distance with a value of the respective first distances to determine which of the respective first distances most closely matches the second distance.
Method and system for measuring airburst munition burst point
A method and fire control system for measuring distance to a burst point of airburst munition including: setting a detonation point distance of airburst munition; firing the weapon with airburst munition at time t.sub.0; setting a time of flight, t.sub.1, of the airburst munitions based on its set detonation point distance, activating and controlling a laser measurement system including a laser transmitter and receiver for sending laser light at a time t.sub.0+t.sub.1 and receiving reflected laser light for measuring distance to cloud of smoke resulting from burst of the airburst munition, processing the reflected laser light and defining a range of distances to the cloud of smoke, and setting a range gate around the set detonation point distance prior to processing received reflected laser light within the range gate for limiting the resulting range of distances and cancelling echoes from surrounding terrain.
Automatic Weapon Subsystem with Sensing, Tracking, Aim Adjustment Control, and Linked External Weapons Subsystems for Best Shot
A human transported weapon system is comprised of a targeting subsystem; a sensing subsystem; trigger activation logic; a decision subsystem; and, an aim adjustment controller responsive to the decision subsystem. The targeting subsystem has a field of view in a target area, identifying at least one said target in the field of view as a selected target. The sensing subsystem, senses and tracks location of the selected target through environment in the target area. The trigger activation logic initiates firing of the munitions at a firing time. The decision subsystem, determines where the selected target is located at the firing time, responsive to the sensing subsystem. The aim adjustment controller, adjusts aim of the munition from the human transported weapon, so that the munition will hit the selected target when fired at the firing time, responsive to the decision subsystem. In one embodiment, the human transported weapon system is linked to communicate with at least one external weapon subsystem, and, the decision subsystem determines which one of the human transported weapon and the external weapon subsystem has a best shot relative to each other.
Human Transported Weapon System and Linked External Weapons Subsystem
A human transported weapon system is comprised of an automated targeting subsystem, a sensing subsystem, a decision subsystem, and, a firing subsystem. The automated targeting subsystem identifies and provides for selection of a selected target in a field of view of a target area of the human transported weapon system. The sensing subsystem tracks location of the selected target. The decision subsystem locates where the selected target is at a firing time, responsive to the sensing subsystem. The firing subsystem fires a munition at the firing time towards the selected target responsive to the decision subsystem. In one embodiment, the human transported weapon system is linked to communicate with at least one external weapon subsystem having separate munitions and ability for firing said separate munitions. The decision subsystem determines which one of the human transported weapon system and the external weapon subsystem has a best shot to strike the selected target if fired, and provides for firing of the munition from whichever one of the human transported weapon system and the external weapons subsystem has the best shot to strike the selected target if fired.
Range finding display with power and angle indicators
An enhanced display reticle for a range finding device, the reticle including a display in communication with a rangefinder and an inclinometer, the display defining a live angle meter and a power meter, the live angle meter including a plurality of incline hashes, the power meter including a plurality of strength hashes; a processor configured to illuminate one or more of the plurality of incline hashes in response to a signal from the inclinometer; illuminate one or more of the plurality of strength hashes in response to a signal received from the laser rangefinder.
FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM
A fire control system comprises a fixed base and a sight assembly rotatably attached to the fixed base. The sight assembly includes an optical range finder for calculating a distance to a selected target and a camera having a zoom lens assembly and an optical sensor for generating an image signal representative of a target scene including a selected target. The zoom lens assembly includes a zoom controller and zoom lens optical elements, wherein the zoom controller is configured to change a magnification of the zoom lens optical elements responsive to a calculated distance to the selected target. In a further aspect, a method for imaging a target is provided.
Method and apparatus for improving the aim of a weapon station, firing a point-detonating or an air-burst projectile
The method and apparatus for a remote weapon station or incorporated into manually-aimed weapons. The methodology requires use of a muzzle velocity sensor that refines the aiming of the second and subsequent fires or volleys fired from weapon systems. When firing the first volley a weapon uses an estimated velocity and, at firing, the muzzle velocity of a projectile is measured. When firing the second volley a weapon's fire control calculates an aiming point using the measured velocity of the first volley.
