Wireless tag processing device configured to select from lists a parameter value to be used to communicate with a wireless tag
A wireless tag processing device includes a wireless tag reader-writer and a processor configured to acquire first and second sets of parameter values, control the reader-writer to transmit a radio wave using each parameter value of the first set and acquire a first intensity of a response wave from a wireless tag, when a highest first intensity satisfies a first condition, determine a parameter value of the first set corresponding to the highest intensity as a parameter value to be used by the reader-writer, and when the highest intensity does not satisfy the condition, control the reader-writer to transmit a radio wave using each parameter value of the second set and acquire a second intensity, and when a highest second intensity satisfies a second condition, determine a parameter value of the second set corresponding to the highest second intensity as the parameter value to be used by the reader-writer.
System and method for producing a strip of material with an integrated electronic component
The method for producing a strip of material with an integrated electronic component comprises the following steps according to the present invention: feeding a material web, cutting a first piece of material from the material web, lifting the first piece of material, applying an electronic component to the material web, once again feeding the material web with the electronic component located on it, cutting a piece of material from the material web to obtain a second piece of material on which the electronic component is located, and applying the first piece of material to the second piece of material so that the electronic component is accommodated between the first piece of material and the second piece of material.
IMAGE FORMING DEVICE
An image forming device capable of reducing resources related to destruction of a wireless tag is provided. The image forming device according to the present embodiment includes a reader and writer, a fixing unit, a determination unit, and a control unit. The reader and writer reads information from the wireless tag. The fixing unit heats and conveys a sheet having the wireless tag. The determination unit determines a defect of the wireless tag based on a reading result of the reader and writer. If the determination unit determines that the wireless tag is defective, the control unit controls the fixing unit to increase an amount of heat applied to the wireless tag such that information cannot be read from the wireless tag.
Desktop plastic card printer with removably installable smart card cartridge
A desktop plastic card printer that is configured to allow installation of a smart card cartridge within an interior space of the printer housing through an opening, for example an opening in a side wall, in the printer housing. Both the mechanical installation and electrical installation of the smart card cartridge occurs via the opening. This allows the desktop plastic card printer to be quickly and easily retrofitted to have the ability to electronically read data from and/or electronically program data on an integrated circuit chip of a plastic card. The retrofitting can take place without using any mechanical tools and without having to remove the entire, or a substantial portion of, the printer housing.
SEALING TAPE
A sealing tape to be used with a sealing device includes an adhesive surface to which an adhesive is applied and RFID tags are attached; and a non-adhesive surface being a back side of the adhesive surface. The sealing device includes a tape supply reel for supplying a sealing tape to which an RFID tag has been coupled; and a sealing part for sealing, with the sealing tape, an opening of a plastic packaging material holding a product, wherein the sealing part adheres the RFID tag, which is coupled to one end of the sealing tape having the length for one use, to an adhesive positioned on the other end portion of the sealing tape having the length for one use, wherein the RFID tag is broken by the adhesive strength with respect to the other end portion when the sealing tape sealing the plastic packaging material is torn.
ELECTROMAGNETIC COUPLER ARRANGEMENT
A wireless electromagnetic coupler arrangement for reactive near field coupling comprising a sequential array of coupling elements which are geometrically arranged one-or two-dimensionally. By means of feeding an unmodulated wave of electromagnetic energy to each of the coupling elements and a respective associated harvester element, in an initial sensing state, an automatic selection of a single coupling element or plural coupling elements which establish a particularly strong and efficient interaction with an inlay is performed. By means of a respective feedback loop, a switchable array of resistances is used to activate the selected coupling element(s) for coupling of information to/from the loop and to de-activate the remaining coupling elements.
TAG COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
A tag communication device includes a communication device and one or more control processors configured to cause the communication device to transmit a first command for notifying selection of a wireless tag including an identification code including a mask pattern that is a part of the common portion of identification codes. The one or more control processors are configured to cause the communication device to transmit a second command for requesting a response to the selected wireless tag and to cause the communication device to transmit a third command for requesting rewriting to the wireless tag that transmits data in response to receiving the data transmitted from one wireless tag. The one or more control processors are configured to cause a repeat of transmission of the second command if a third command is transmitted until the third commands are transmitted to each of a predetermined number of the wireless tags.
RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID) PRINTER WITH A ROTATABLE ANTENNA BRACKET COMPONENT
A radio-frequency identification (RFID) printer is provided. The RFID printer may include an RFID antenna component and a rotatable antenna bracket component. The rotatable antenna bracket component may include a first knob portion, a first elongated portion and a first side portion projecting from a first end of the first elongated portion and connecting the first elongated portion to the first knob portion. The RFID antenna component may be secured in the first elongated portion.
Spatially selective UHF near field microstrip coupler device and RFID systems using device
A system having a UHF RFID transceiver is adapted to communicate exclusively with a single electro-magnetically coupled transponder located in a predetermined confined transponder operating region. The system includes a near field coupling device comprising a plurality of lines connected in parallel with an unmatched load. The near field coupling device may be formed, for example on a printed circuit board with a plurality of electrically interconnected traces and a ground plane. The system establishes, at predetermined transceiver power levels, a mutual electro-magnetic coupling which is selective exclusively for a single transponder located in a defined transponder operating region. Also included are methods for selective communication with the transponder in an apparatus such as a printer-encoder.
System and method for bulk RFID tag encoding
A method for bulk encoding of RFID tags. The method may include printing a plurality of unencoded RFID labels, coupling each of the plurality of unencoded RFID labels to each of a plurality of products, packaging like products from the plurality of products coupled with the unencoded RFID labels together in a container, scanning the container holding the products with an RFID antenna, and encoding each of the unencoded RFID labels coupled to each of the plurality of like products in a container simultaneously with identical information for each container.
