Financial card with dynamic viewing angles to block card information

Methods and systems for a financial card with dynamic viewing angles are disclosed. A first portion of indicia and a second portion of indicia can be disposed on a first surface and/or a second surface of a financial card. The first portion of the indicia can be viewable only from at least a first viewing angle. The second portion of the indicia can be viewable only from at least a second viewing angle, the second viewing angle being different from the first viewing angle.

Coupling frames for smartcards with various module opening shapes
11551051 · 2023-01-10 · ·

Coupling frames (CF) for smartcards (SC) having contactless capability. Openings (MO) for transponder chip modules (TCM) may have various non-rectangular shapes. Slits in the coupling frames may have various shapes, and may extend from anywhere in the opening to anywhere on the periphery (outer edge) of the coupling frame. The slit may be filled. A slit area of the coupling frame may be reinforced. The coupling frame may be one or more metal layers in the card. The slits of two coupling frames may have different shapes than one another. The coupling frame may constitute the entire card body. The coupling frame may be smaller than the overall card body.

RFID SWITCH TAG
20180005099 · 2018-01-04 ·

Various embodiments of RFID switch devices are disclosed herein. Such RFID switch devices advantageously enable manual activation/deactivation of the RF module. The RFID switch device may include a RF module with an integrated circuit adapted to ohmically connect to a substantially coplanar conductive trace pattern, as well as booster antenna for extending the operational range of the RFID device. The operational range of the RFID switch device may be extended when a region of the booster antenna overlaps a region of the conductive trace pattern on the RF module via inductive or capacitive coupling. In some embodiments, all or a portion of the booster antenna may at least partially shield the RF module when the RFID switch device is in an inactive state.

TRANSACTION CARDS WITH DISCONTINUOUS METAL STRATA
20230234390 · 2023-07-27 · ·

A transaction card having a discontinuous metal stratum with a desired degree of electrical eddy current disruption disposed on a surface of a first layer, such as a glass or other transparent layer. A transaction module disposed in the first layer is electrically isolated from the discontinuous metal stratum. The discontinuous metal stratum may include a plurality of isolated metal features that form a halftone pattern, such as a pattern that is visibly opaque to the naked eye.

LAYERED STRUCTURES WITH CUTTING LINES

The invention is related to a layered structure with at least one layer a. of a material with a VST≥85° C. comprising at least one cutting line b. reaching through the whole thickness of the layered structure surrounding at least one first portion which is extractable and reinsertable manually from the layered structure as well as a production process for such a layered structure.

SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR WIRELESS CHARGING
20230223796 · 2023-07-13 ·

Using inductive currents to wirelessly charge a device via a device connected to a power source. This inductive charging may result when a first mobile device recognizes a second mobile device via a wireless connection (e.g., Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Near-Field Communication (NFC), or the like). An application stored on the first mobile device may recognize a second mobile device by transmitting an advertising packet when the first mobile device is connected to a power source. An advertising packet may be received by the second mobile device and the second mobile device may transmit a response to the advertising packet in order to generate a connection between the first and second mobile devices. The response may include data such as, connection strength, response time, connection preferences, and the like. Upon detection and connection, the second mobile device may be wireles sly charged by the first device via inductive charging.

PAYMENT CARD WITH ENHANCED EDGE PATTERNS
20220414407 · 2022-12-29 ·

Aspects described herein may allow for a payment card having enhanced edge patterns. The payment card may include a complex edge morphology on the physical card that may make the payment card more likely to be used by consumers and makes the payment card stand out due to the enhanced edge design. The edge of the payment card may be reeded, crenelated, or may include various shapes of various sizes on one or more of the edge walls extending around the payment card. The edge of the payment card may also include dimples, chips, and/or other complex design patterns cut into the face of the payment card close to the edge. The payment card may also include inclusions of other materials, such as metals, ceramic, and/or polymer to be added which fill or partially fill any voids produced by the edge patterns.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE HAVING A STIFFNESS ALTERING STRUCTURE
20230056643 · 2023-02-23 ·

In some embodiments, a radio frequency identification (RFID) device may include a reactive strap may include a conductor enclosing an area and an RFID chip connected to the conductor, the conductor enclosing an area and defining a first opening, and a flexible substrate attached to the conductor and defining a second opening. The first and second openings together may define a passage through both the conductor and the flexible backing material.

Composite merchandise label constructions

Label constructions comprise a first section and a second section that are laminate constructions of a card stock top surface that may include printed indicia, an adhesive layer disposed underneath the card stock, and a removable liner adhered to the adhesive layer and common to the first and second sections. The first section includes an RFID device. The first section may be configured once removed from the liner to fold on itself to form an RFID tag, or to form an RFID adhesive label. The second section once separately removed from the liner forms an adhesive label. The construction first and second sections are positioned adjacent one another and are formed during the same manufacturing process for purposes of manufacturing efficiency. The first and second sections may be treated to facilitate separate removal from the liner to provide labeling flexibility.

Tubing RFID Systems and Methods

A system and method of embedding a radio frequency identification RFID tag on tubular strings, pipes, or casings by machining a groove or indention towards the end of the fadeaway of the upset. Because the RFID tag is permanently affixed to the coupling, the pipe is capable of being monitored or tracked at various points in its storage, travel, or use.
