DUAL INTERFACE METALLIC TRANSACTION CARDS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A dual interface transaction card for contact and contactless transactions includes a top metal layer having an upper surface and a bottom surface. The transaction card may also include a magnetic platform, and the magnetic platform may include a magnetic layer and a thermoplastic perimeter layer. The magnetic layer includes an upper surface, a bottom surface, and a periphery extending between the bottom surface and the upper surface of the magnetic layer. The thermoplastic perimeter layer surrounds the periphery of the magnetic layer. The transaction card also includes an antenna package layer.
Methods for placing an EMV chip onto a metal card
A method for removing an EMV chip from a plastic credit card or debit card and placing the removed EMV chip onto a metal card, includes heating the plastic credit or debit card containing the EMV chip to loosen the EMV chip, the EMV chip being substantially square and planar, the EMV chip having an upward top face, a downward bottom face, and four sides; removing the loosened EMV chip from the plastic credit or debit card; bending the four sides of the EMV chip towards the downward bottom face of the EMV chip; applying an adhesive coating to the bottom face and the bended four sides of the EMV chip; and placing the adhesive coated bottom face and bended four sides of the EMV chip into a holding cavity of the metal card.
Smart card for connection with a personal computing device
In some embodiments a secure card is disclosed with a body; and, a plurality of contacts. The contact may be in communication with storage media in the body of the card. The storage media may store identification information for the secure card. The plurality of contacts are optionally disposed proximate to an edge of the body. Optionally the contacts are rounded and/or spaced apart from each other to avoid short circuits when the secure card is placed in a connector. Some embodiments include a connector having interface elements corresponding to each of the card contacts. For example, the connector may connect between the contacts and a computer port. Optionally the card includes an integrated circuit in communication with said storage media and configured for communication in accordance with a standard computer port communication protocol with each of contacts corresponding to a contact of the protocol.
TRANSACTION CARD WITH TACTILE ELEMENTS
In some implementations, a transaction card may include a card body, a magnetic stripe connected to the card body at a magnetic stripe region of the card body, and a tactile element at the magnetic stripe region of the card body.
Transaction card including removable chip
Provided are approaches for removing a chip of a transaction card using a chip removal element. In some approaches, the transaction card may include a body including a first main side opposite a second main side, a chip coupled to the first main side of the body, and a chip removal element disposed between the chip and the body. A first end of the chip removal element may be positioned within a tab recess along the first main side of the body, wherein the chip removal element is operable to decouple the chip from the body when the chip removal element is moved away from the body.
BLOOD TREATMENT DEVICE
The present invention relates to a blood treatment device having at least one reading and/or writing apparatus which is configured to read information from a card and/or to write information to a card, and having at least one receiver into which the card can be introduced and from which the card can be removed, wherein the receiver is arranged such that information can be read from the card and/or information can be written to the card by means of the reading and/or writing apparatus in the state of the card introduced into the receiver, wherein the receiver is not horizontal, but rather extends slanted upwardly with respect to the horizontal in the direction of introduction of the card.
Method for producing a card body, card body for a chip card and chip card
A method for manufacturing a card body for a chip card, includes the steps of: supplying a metallic base body with two opposite main faces and a circumferential peripheral face connecting the two main faces, wherein in the base body a module opening for receiving a chip module has already been produced or will still be produced in a module opening zone, and producing a slot on the peripheral face between the two main faces. The slot is formed from the peripheral face up to the module opening or up to the module opening zone. An entry angle (?) of the slot into at least one of the two main faces is not equal to ninety degrees with respect to the main face.
Transaction card with tactile elements
In some implementations, a transaction card may include a card body, a magnetic stripe connected to the card body at a magnetic stripe region of the card body, and a tactile element at the magnetic stripe region of the card body.
