Foil laminate intermediate and method of manufacturing

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a metal foil laminate which may be used for example to produce an antenna for a radio frequency (RFID) tag, electronic circuit, photovoltaic module or the like. A web of material is provided to at least one cutting station in which a first pattern is generated in the web of material. A further cutting may occur to create additional modifications in order to provide additional features for the intended end use of the product. The cutting may be performed by a laser either alone or in combinations with other cutting technologies.

FEEDBACK CONTROL OF MOUNTED CHIP PRODUCTION
20180012116 · 2018-01-11 ·

A feedback control system for RFID assembly production. The control system can include a measurement system and a control system. The measurement system may take measurements of one or more electrical properties of an RFID chip assembly, for example an RFID strap or RFID antenna. The measurement system may then communicate to the control system to adjust one or more parameters affecting the electrical properties. Once the desired set of electrical properties is achieved, the chip assembly may be cured. The feedback control system may be implemented dynamically, either for precision assembly of individual chip assemblies or in batch for controlling the average properties of assemblies on a rolling production line. The feedback control system can also be implemented in a step-wise fashion and be used to collect data and iteratively self-improve.

Fire alarm inspection application and user interface
20180012482 · 2018-01-11 ·

A system and method for facilitating inspection of fire alarm systems includes a graphical user interface rendered on a touchscreen display of a mobile computing device receiving selections of inspection results. The graphical user interface includes a testing pane, which indicates devices that are currently being tested, and a selection pane, which indicates devices yet to be tested. The devices indicated by the selection pane are filtered according to the inferred location of the inspector or the inferred order of test. Selection of devices indicated by the selection pane results in those devices being indicated by the testing pane. Results of inspections of the devices indicated by the testing pane are then selected by the touchscreen display detecting gestures (e.g. swipes toward the left or right) corresponding to different results. The results are sent to a connected services system and stored in a connected services database.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING A BIOMETRIC PAYMENT DEVICE

In a wireless communication card and a manufacturing method thereof according to an embodiment of the present invention, the method comprises the steps of: processing an antenna inlay layer including an antenna coil; stacking a first overlay layer that covers a top surface of the antenna inlay layer; processing a PVC insert inserted in a chip-on-board (COB) accommodation space, which is formed by milling a specific area of the first overlay layer, and provided with an accommodation groove in which a lower portion of a pad of the COB is supported; passing both ends of the antenna coil drawn out from the antenna inlay layer through the PVC insert, and connecting the antenna coil to contact areas of the COB; and mounting the COB in the PVC insert inserted in the COB accommodation space.

MANUFACTURING METAL INLAYS FOR DUAL INTERFACE METAL CARDS
20230027226 · 2023-01-26 ·

A “core” or “inlay” for a smartcard may comprise a first metal layer and a second metal layer, and may be formed by folding a single metal layer upon itself. A module cavity may be formed in the first metal layer by laser cutting, prior to laminating. An adhesive layer may be disposed between the two metal layers. A module opening may be formed in the second metal layer by milling, after laminating the first metal layer to the second metal layer. A slit in a metal layer may extend from an outer edge of the layer to the cavity or opening, thereby forming a coupling frame. The slit may have a termination hole at either end or at both ends of the slit. The slits of two metal layers may be positioned differently than one another.
