A method for providing information in a machine-readable form is based on information being allocated a unique database reference identifier consisting of at least one character in an initialization step. In a subsequent generation process step, a 2D identifier matrix is generated. The 2D identifier matrix has cells, each of which is assigned a cell value. The 2D identifier matrix has linear borders for bordering the cells. The borders and the cells are designed such that the cell values can be optically detected by a person. Immediately following the generation of the 2D identifier matrix, the database reference identifier is transmitted to the 2D identifier matrix by marking specified cells of the 2D identifier matrix in the same generation process step. Each character of the database reference identifier is represented by precisely one cell value.

An RFID label processing system for processing base webs comprises a conveyor device configured to feed a base web along a predetermined conveyor path. The base web includes a sequence of processing segments, with each processing segment forming an RFID label. The processing system further comprises at least two processing modules which are arranged adjacent to the conveyor path, wherein the processing modules are spaced apart by a variable distance. At least one sensor module is configured to determine the position of the processing segments on the base web along the predetermined conveyor path and to output a segment position signal, so that a positioning module that is coupled to at least one of the processing modules and the sensor module may be configured to displace the at least one of the processing modules along the predetermined conveyor path depending on the value of the segment position signal.

Excess radio-frequency (RF) power storage in RF identification (RFID) tags, and related systems and methods

Excess radio-frequency (RF) power storage in RF identification (RFID) tags, and related systems and methods are disclosed. The RFID tag is configured to operate with RF power received in wireless RF signals from a RFID tag antenna if received RF power meets or exceeds an operational threshold power for the RFID tag. The RFID tag is also configured to store excess energy derived from excess received RF power in an energy storage device if the received RF power exceeds the operational threshold power for the RFID tag. Thus, when RF power received by the RFID tag is not sufficient for operation, the RFID tag can operate from power provided by previously stored excess energy in the energy storage device.
